You will need to cahnge the capacitors on the DM board, very common problem. The V21 V19 DM repair kit at the following link contains the replacement capacitors and detailed instructions. Its listed under the repair kits catagory at the following link.

SOURCE: LG TV no longer responds to the remote control..
I have had the exact same problem with my 47LG70 after 13 months of use. I changed my remote control sensor but it did not help. Before you do that, try something simple which seems irrelevant. On this website, others have posted success by plugging in any standing set of headphones into the remote control or headphone jack on the rear TV panel. This solved my problem. So I proceeded to thoroughly dust all of the input/output component jacks on the rear and side of the TV with an air-can. This solved my problem and I do not need to have the headphones plugged in. So try these two things before changing the sensor.

you might try unplugging the TV and then plugging in again. It worked for me
Turn your Sharp television on. Press the "Menu" button on your remote control. Press the "Right" arrow until you see "Setup."
Press the "Down" arrow until you see "Reset" displayed under the Setup menu. Press "Enter."
Type your secret four-digit code using the remote keypad. If you do not know it, you'll need to reset it by following the process in the section "Resetting the Parental Control Password." After you type in the code, "Reset to Factory Preset Values" will appear on the screen.
Press the "Right" arrow to select "Yes" then press "Enter." The screen will show "Now TV Will Restart." Press the "Right" arrow then press "Enter." Wait for the television to reset and revert to the factory default settings.
