I have owned my Westinghouse SK-32H240s for about 18 months now, and I ... Youwon't be certain if you are getting the right firmware or the complete firmware. .....makes it stop for a while, the same as it may with a weak antenna signal. .... would just go nuts and display a bunch of colored bars vertically.

First of check the speakers the tv. If its ok then the problem is with the audio output ic in the main board. Its an smd is to replace the same you need Smd rework sation. Its better to contact the nearest servcing center. Or you can replace the main board to sove the problem. I have adds a link which will lead you the main board for your tv. confirm the image with the main board in your tv before purchase.

Usually on newer westinghouse tv's the only audio output on the tv is the headphone jack so you will need to buy a 3.5 mm stereo to rca converter and use that instead of the rca cables provided with the sound bar.

There can be several causes for this, few of which you can do anything about. However, a few things to try:

1) Replace the batteries on your remote control.
2) Try resetting the logic functions on your tv by unplugging it for a minute, then plugging it back in.
3) Try covering up the infra-red receptor on the front of your TV to see if you're getting unwanted signals from the receptor. taping a piece of foil over that area is perfect. If it doesn't stop after doing these two things you'll probably need to take it to a shop.
4) If this does stop it, then look for unexpected signal sources. Have you added a remote control extender? Added a new device to your audio-video system? Changed to a new remote?

Most likely, a number of capacitors need to be replaced in the power supply on this set, OR possibly, there is a bad connection on a connection on the snubber capacitor in the power supply, near the SMT transformer--and I have seen this MANY times on westinghouse LCD sets. .

I am happy to help, we need to check the backlight inverter.

1. Turn tv on and get to a point that you have audio.
2. Take a flashlight and shine it on the screen.
3. Look very closely at the screen for a very dark video image.

If you see an image you have a bad inverter, you should be able to replace it yourself. I can walk you through in chat. Let me know your findings. Lone99star
