Check the latch component on the presser foot bar and on the presser foot. Perhaps something has become loose, fallen off, or become damaged. Have you tried a different presser foot and, if so, does it work? If more than one presser foot will not attach, then the problem is on the presser foot bar.

SOURCE: I have a pfaff hobbylock 796.

Has any little kids been around lately? Have they had access to your sewing area and machine? (thinking perhaps the pressure foot tension has been tightened down) If it has been tightened, losen it a couple turns, see if that helps (remember, left to loosen, right to tighten)

When is the last time you oiled this machine? Typically sergers require a clean and oil each time you go to use them. Locate the bar that correlates to the presser foot add a drop of oil to the bar and let it seep in. After a few minutes try lifting the presser foot.

Also does the presser foot lever move at all?

SOURCE: Can't get my presser foot to fall down when I let go of the lifter on my Pfaff 6085 sewing machine

Sounds as if the spring for the presser bar is broken OR the presser bar is dirty and needs cleaned and oiled.

Model 6110. Dropdown foot is not fully descending. How can I repair?

The grease that is their may be thick. Get your hair dryer out and warm the total parts that rises and falls when you move your lever.
Continue to move the lever while you're heating the parts. You should notice a big change. Try to clean off any old grease. After you do this use some good synthetic oil on the moving parts.

How can I adjust the foot tension on my Pfaff 1475? When I release the foot it doesn't go al the way down. and when I push it all the way down, it doesn't stay down.

Pfaff sewing machines are difficult to repair in most cases but you can try if you like. The arm that goes up and down when you push on the foot is adjusted to a spring that rises and falls. It is adjustable by a screw that holds the spring and the arm together. By loosening the screw the arm is movable up or down as necessary.

The presser foot lever keeps falling down when set in the up position on my Pfaff Performance 2056. How do I fix it?

The presser foot return spring needs to be replaced, it's a inexpensive repair.
This sounds like a job for a repair shop.

Bar that sewng foot is attached to for raising & lowering suddenly will not drop sweing foot all the way down to plate. Any suggestions on how to fix?

Perhaps you accidently moved the switch that enables free hand embroidery? It's up and under next to the pressor foot lever. Slides forward and backward. Forward the pressor foot will go all the way down to the feed dogs. Slid back and it keeps the foot up off the feed dogs but allows the thread tension to work properly. It would be easy to accidently move it when operating the pressor foot raise/lower lever.

Pfaff 1371 pressure foot won't come down on it's own

I just addressed this issue with my 6110. There is a spring in the shaft for the pressure foot. Over time the white grease that lubricates the spring and the plastic piston at the top dried up, gumming up the works. I took it all apart, cleaned out the bad (now hard grease), re-greased and put it all back together. Works like new. I used a lithium grease as it is easy on plastic parts.

PFAFF sewing machine: How do I attach the gathering foot on the PFAFF 1473?

usually a gathering foot or ruffler fits on like one would fit an old style foot. Unscrew the thumb screw that holds the snap on foot holder.... and place your foot making sure the needle holder thumb screw holds the lever on the other side. And tighten the thumb screw to hold on the foot.

Good luck.

Pfaff 6122 Problem

Your machine just needs to be tuned up an the part inside that lower and raises the presser foot needs to be re-lubricated.  Lint, dust, dryness and the machine not being used can cause this issue with most pfaff machines (including my 7570).  A standard tune up from your local PFAFF dealer will remedy this.
