It hums, door locks but wont drain or spin. I removed the pump tested and spins freely, drum spins freely also.
If the washer won't drain water the drain pump might be defective. ... If the washer won't drain there might be a clogged pump or hose. It's common for small socks or other small clothing items to get into the water drain system and clog the hose leading to the pump or the pump itself.
Testimonial: "Well when I seen the above answer my 1st thought was BS. But I had no other options at the time. So I disconnected drain hose from pump & wall drain. Took it outside & ran water through it with garden hose & at least 4 - 5 cups of grey gunk came out. So I took a long wire with swab at end and pulled it through a couple times. Put everything back together. Works like new. THANK YOU!!!!!"
Hello Tina Kaha - Often when a unit does not spin, it is because the unit cannot properly drain and dispose of the water and detergent solution. Does the unit make a humming noise? If so, the drainage hose/pump may be clogged and needs to be cleaned. If not, the washer may possibly be experiencing an issue with the door lock assembly, faulty pump, timer or control board not communicating correctly. Because it could be a number of any one of several underlying causes, I would recommend contacting a professional to properly diagnose and repair the unit.
