SOURCE: Refrigerator trips GFI outlet
unlikely to be the defrost timer. more likely to be the defrost element. try disconnecting the element and see if it trips then. could be of course a wiring fault - frayed wires etc
SOURCE: fridge/freezer trips my circuit breaker
This sounds like a grounded wire in your defrost system. Start by finding the defrost timer and checking the wires. One may have been pulled loose or pinched while it was being moved.

Could be a wire short, bad defrost heater, or comp. pulling too many amps which is between 2 and 6 or higher being bad. I would say the main problem is you purchased a LG fridge which is a poorly made fridge, sorry.

It sounds like the defrost element is faulty and is causing a leakage to earth when the unit comes onto defrost cycle. Check the defrost element in the freezer compartment behind a panel cover.
SOURCE: Refrigerator cools as normal. Trips 15 AMP circuit breaker.
a full size refrige has to be on a 20 amp circuit, a 15 amp is just not big enough.. you should also know that this circuit has to be on a 12-2 gauge wire.. I also highly recommend installing a 20 amp HD receptacle
