SOURCE: keyboard letters are typing different letters
Hi Melaine,
It sounds like you're in a word-processing or text-editing application, and have selected a Symbol font. Change to another font (like Arial) and it should clear-up.

This sounds like a corrupt print driver. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver.
SOURCE: my mac laptop will not type certain letters.
Well what i learnt with MAC and pretty much any system is the keyboard when setting it up, if it is done in a different country format it will come out different when you type..
e.g. I have my HP G60-235DX and i Reinstalled the OS and then did the keyboard upon setup for UK english and i am in the U.S. and it came out totally different.. My @ is usually my number 2 not it is the " open quotation sign for my number 2 and my original open quotation sign is my @ sign, and this was all working fine once redone to american setup for the keyboard...
Check into that and see if the wrong setup was selected for the keyboard may have to call apple if not sure where to go for that...
99% of the time that is the issue and reason being is that keyboard and mose are like standard drives those dont require the software drivers just start up drivers and they work, so try to rethink and see in setup what was selected...
Give it a shot... what you got to lose more that a twisted keyboard...
thank you
