Since NIKON doesn't allow repair info or parts to the user you must send it in for a repaired exchange camera from NIKON.

SOURCE: Power Shot SD550 Date Stamp

Dear BethSmith,
I have had the same problem for a long time.  It has nothing to do with the battery, etc..  It has to do with the software of the camera.

You are only able to have time stamps on the photos when you are in the postcard mode.  (resolution will be set to 1600x1200, at fine setting)  Check out page 29 and 39 of Advance user manual!

Good luck,
Shah

SOURCE: HELP! Getting the date/time stamp off your Vivitar 5100...

When you turn on your camera, press the menu button. That will bring up the screen that has the orange buttons at the top (Capture) (Setup) arrow down using the buttons on the far right side. The down button will be the dame button that you use to delete pictures with. When you get to the botton of the page continue arrowing down and that will bring up another page. Arrow down until you get to the botton there are only 3 items on this page and the bottom item will say the following:

Date imprint ON

Press your enter button (ok button) and up will pop ON or OFF.
Arrown down to the OFF and press enter and that will remove the date imprint from your pictures.

Hope this helps you.

SOURCE: how to make date and time stamp on Nikon d40x

The D40x will not timestamp the image itself.
The date and time are contained in the JPG metadata, which you can access when you look at the picture, or can imprint when getting the pictures processed.

SOURCE: date stamp will not show on my camera

I found the solution o-line. All I had to do was switch the camera to the 'postcard' mode and instant presto, I was able to access the date stamp mode. I want to express my thanks to the (I don't remember who) person who posted the solution.

Nikon B500 camera. I put a new memory card in my Nikon B500 and the camera says 'card not present'.

Is it this type of card?

The B500 is compatible with SDHC and SDXC cards. That means you can use cards from 4GB all the way to the largest cards currently available. (at that time 128GB)

And is it less than 128GB?

Your Nikon Coolpix B500 Digital Camera is compatible with 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB SD, SDHC and SDXC memory cards.

I can't turn on the date stamp for my nikon coolpix w100. I press settings, push the button for date stamp then it shows it's off but no matter what I try I can't get it to turn to on.

Whatever button you used to select the ‘date stamp’ option, on most digital cameras, it’s usually a second button to ‘select’ whether you want it on or off.

Nikon Coolpix L100 how to put date on

The date imprint feature is not available in all shooting modes. These include the Museum or Panorma mode. To turn on the feature if it is off, press the Menu button and then choose the Setup Menu. (The icon is a stylized wrench.) Go to the menu item Date Imprint and set this to Date or Date and Time. Note: the date (and time) will be easier to read if the Image Mode is set to PC screen (1024). Make sure that the date and time is correct in those menu areas.

This information is in the manual for the CoolPix L100 on page 101 (page 113 of the PDF). Nikon has the manual available on the product page: https://www.nikonusa.com/en/nikon-products/product-archive/compact-digital-cameras/coolpix-l100.html . The current link to the manual is https://cdn-10.nikon-cdn.com/pdf/manuals/coolpix/L100EN.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Turn off the date stamp

You didn't give the model number of your Coolpix, so I can only give you general instructions. Explore your camera's menu. Somewhere, you will find an item that will allow you to turn the date stamp on or off and set the current date and possibly the time.

Welcome to FixYa,

You can disabled the Date Imprint. In this option you can print your pictures without the date and time printed on it.

All you have to do is set the Date Imprint on its default setting or setting it on OFF
Just go to Set up Menu and look for the Date Imprint and set it to OFF.

There are other option where the Date Imprint will be disabled.

- When the Continous Mode is set to Continous or BBS
- When the Scene mode is set to Sports, Museum, or Panorama assist.
- When movies are being recorded.

Hope this information will help you and can answered your question.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I have a Nikon Coolpix S60 and need to have the date and time stamped ON my photos. My camera is set to date and time but it doesn't show up on my photos, can you help?

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with the image in what's called the EXIF data. The software you use for printing the picture should give you the option of printing some of that data on the picture or in the margins (or on the back, if your printer can do two-sided printing). Please refer to the documentation for whatever program you're using.
