  1. Make sure that your bobbin is all the way into the case
  2. Make sure that your needle is up out of the machine
  3. The half circle that is cut out of the bobbin case always goes towards the top.
  4. When you grab the tab on the bobbin case to put it in to the machine, it keeps the bobbin from falling out while you are trying to get it into the machine.
  5. If you still can't get it in, take a flashlight and look at where you are putting the bobbin case. Sometimes the thread from the spool on top has wound around inside the hook and won't let your bobbin case go in. If this has happened, you need to take a sharp pair of scissors or seam ripper to cut it out and then clean all that thread out and try it again.
Good Luck :)

SOURCE: Bobbin Case

I'm having a similar problem today. I took out the bobbin case and when I went to put it back in, the whole system locks up. I've tired cleaning, changing needle taking the metal plate and piece that holds bobbin case out and put it all back in after cleaning. Nothing. My symptom is I can't get a complete stitch, the needle goes down, the whole deal acts like it will work and as soon as the arm of the bobbin case gets to 8 o' clock on the gears, It jams and won't hardly move. I cannot pull the bobbin case out easily after this. Perhaps there is someone out there that can help us!

SOURCE: bobbin case case keeps jamming

I am having somewhat the same problem with the exception that my needle did not break. I've cleaned and oil, but the bobbin case and projection positioned spring is not communicating to allow sewing to continue. The thread keeps jamming and the bobbin raises up the plate. So, what else am I to do?

SOURCE: juki ddl-227 industrial machine

Before all else. Turn off machine!
(1) break screws on the hook loose.
(2) tighten one back up very skightly, one you can reach when the needle bar is at its lowest position.
(3) lower needle bar to its lowest position.
(4) loosen the screw just tightened.
(5) position the tip of the hook behind the needle hole. the tip should be as close to the needle hole as possible without actually touching the needle
(6) tighten screws
(7) slowly hand turn the machine (depress the foot pedal to disengage clutch brake on motor) several revolutions to make sure the needle doesn't hit anything on the hook.
(8) if it passes this test, try on a scrap of fabric

SOURCE: Installing the hook and bobbin assembly.

The plastic bobbin case should sit on top of the raceway, it should slot in quite easily, once the bobbin case is in put the small metal clip at the top over to hold it in place.

SOURCE: I just bought a used juki DDL 8500 industrial

I just bought the same machine and mine came with a photocopied manual. There is indeed a bobbin winder on the side, there's a flat section on the side of the bobbin winder closest to you, if you push that forward it connects a wheel attached to a bobbin spoke, to the belt that runs between the machine and the motor. To wind the bobbin, put the bobbin on sideways onto the axis of the wheel that is on the inside of the machine, and push the bobbin winder forward.

If you're looking for where the bobbin case is located on the machine, if you look underneath the machine on the left hand side, there should be a metal belly, on the left side of the belly is an opening, and in there sits the bobbin casing.
I think you were asking for either one of these answers, I'm on here troubleshooting for my Juki DDL-8500, good luck with yours, hopefully I can find what I need to know too!

Dear all. I have Juki HZL 7800 machine in this the bobbin thread is not pick up. Can any one tech me home to open the bobbin case holder and adjust to pick up the thread. I learned if we open the holder...

Try searching for Juki HZL 7800 user manual
may also try searching in YouTube, they usually have bobbin removal videos there
i just fixed my machine with same problem, the distance between niddle and bobbin was out of adjustment. Try searching for service manual for your machine, they have all adjustment procedures there.
I am not sire what the specs are for Yours, mine is Janome.
there is three factors that may cause your problem.
1-niddle tip either too high or too low for bobbin hook to pick up
2- niddle tip is too far from bobbin
3- bobbin timing is out of adjustment
I set all three according my service manual it runns better than new
good luck!

Brand new juki 1508NH when replacing the throat plate and notch is in correct spot the bobbin only turns half way.Tried to remove screws to take out case they won't budge

Oil generally helps. Put a couple drops of oil on screws and let set a while.
  1. HOWEVER, If you have had a thread stuck in your bobbin, it may have used its safety feature to keep you from ruining your machine.
  2. Tip the machine back and use flashlight to make sure that your bobbin case is either out of the machine or in the machine correctly. If you think you have a thread hung up in the hook, take out the bobbin case, put a drop of oil where the hook moves and if there is a thread in there I usually use needle nose pliers to pull it out. It sometimes takes a few minutes to work it loose.
  3. NOW put the machine back down. There is a small button in the middle of the bed of the machine, about half way between the needle and the reverse lever. Push down hard with your left hand on the button and hold it down while you are turning the hand wheel towards you slowly. You should soon feel a click on the button as the machine goes back into sewing mode.
  4. Put your bobbin and bobbin case back in, pull your thread up and test sew.
Good Luck :)

My juki 2000 changes tension when I change bobbin thread

When you change thread, are you using the same brand of thread and thread weight? A heavier or lighter weight thread will affect the bobbin tension. Otherwise, perhaps the bobbin case is worn. Look for a replacement bobbin case.

I have a Janome Memory Craft 4900. I broke a needle while sewing in a zipper. I replaced the needle, but now the machine makes a medal scraping noise when I sew. I took off the needle plate and bobbin...

did you find the tip of the needle? Also you may have a nick in the metal where the needle hit and broke. It can catch on other parts and need to be sanded or replaced. One time I had this issue and I found the tiny broken tip under my bobbin case.

I took apart my bobbin case, plate andbobbin holder. I can

I had the same problem and can't find my Owner's Manual. I found the answer on-line. Hopefully, you have the same type of bobbin casing. To get the answer, go to www.startsewing.co.uk and choose "How to thread a Sewing Machine". If you have the same type of bobbin casing, you should be able to figure out the proper placement of the parts by looking at the one in the demonstration. I am thrilled (!) and hope this works for you, too.
