Samsung 3650 dvd/vcr player loading problem

When trying to play a DVDthey generally won't start. Player says "loading" for long time thensays "this disc cannot be played---check the disc". Following thatplayer may display "play", then in a second, or two, displays "stop" onthe screen. Player may repeat all this several times, then it maysuddenly start to play the DVD. This happens with almost all DVD's. Ican put them in computer DVD playerand they work fine. If I keep trying to restart the player, eventually, after about 10 to 20 tries, it will play the DVD with no problem.

It is just as you described it.  It says "loading" continually and nothing more happens.  What do we do?

Sorry, no suggestion other than don't buy Samsung. That's my conclusion after owning the same model. It worked fine for a while, but now won't load any DVD... usually. Sometimes it will play one, but more often it won't. Mine tries to load ("Loading") for a long time, I hear the DVD spinning, then ultimately the screen displays "This disc cannot be played" or something to that effect.

Magnavox dv220mw9 the vcr player won't play

Someone will have to open the unit to see what is happening---either tape is not loading all the way or when FF or Rewind hit not moving the reels----could be as simple as a belt or a bad drive idler (most use either a rubber wheel or gears to move the tape in Play, FF, and Rewind.

When trying to play some DVDs, the brightness fades in and out. This started to happen when I bought a new Samsung wide screen TV. Samsung says it is not a problem with the TV and must be with the DVR...

Could be either one the tv or the DVD/VCR player.Take the DVD/VCR player used it with another tv,see if have the same problems happen. If it is the DVD/VCR player dose have this problems, this problems is causes by the DVD/VCR laser eye reader, not worth fixing. The whole new DVD/VCR player only cost like 60 or 70 bucks brand new.If it turn out to be the LCD tv fault, than have very strong case to argument for the Samsung tv corporation for the tv warrenty repair.

DVD stopped working and cannot do setup.

You probably need to reset your DVD/VCR/Combo. Go to www.samsung.com. Go to <Support>. In the search box, type in the model of your DVD/VCR/Combo. Or type in, >how to reset DVD/VCR/Combo<. Each model has different reset method and there are hundreds of models!

853. How To Reset Your Samsung DVD Player STEP 1
STEP 1. DVD Reset List
Samsung DVD players have a built-in reset procedure that resets the DVD player to the factory defaults. You can use the reset procedure to reset settings that don’t work with your TV or to resolve issues such as unit lock up. To run the reset procedure, you press one or more buttons on the front of the DVD player and hold them for at least fifteen seconds. The buttons your press depend on the model you have.
Important: For the reset procedure to work, you must press the buttons on the front of the player, not on the remote control for the player.
Below is a list of all Samsung DVD players and the buttons to press to run the reset procedure.
DVD511 - Stop / Play
DVD611 - Stop / Play
DVD709 - Stop / Play....

Many, many other models follow but cannot be listed here because of this site's text limitations.

Good luck!

DVD Player does not work

General Problems
Player won’t work (locks up)
• Try unplugging the AC power cord and plugging it back in.
• Reset the DVD/VCR: on the front of the unit, press and hold the STANDBY/ON button while you press and hold the STOP button—wait at least 3 seconds
before you release both of the buttons. You’ll need to set up your menu preferences because this Reset Procedure returns the DVD/VCR’s menus to the
factory default settings and also erases the contents of the Disc Library.

Samsung DVD-4600 DVD/VCR Player

My Smasung DVD/VCR Combo stopped reading DVDs because of a dirty read head. It started by only playing disks sometimes, and progressed to never playing disks. I assumed it was a dirty laser lens so I bought a lens cleaner set. Unfortunately my player wouldn't play the cleaner disk.

So I took it apart and cleaned the laser lens manually with some isopropyl alcohol (the clenser that came with my cleaning disk), and a lens cloth (that came with my glasses). Just open the case (starting with the screws in the back) and remove the snap in cross panel that obscures the lens of the DVD portion. Put a drop of cleanser on the lens and gently wipe it with the cloth.

Oh and by the way, I take no responsibility if you break your own player while following my instructions. My own DVD player was far out of warranty at the time I cracked it open.
