HP Designjet 110plus nr InkJet Printer Logo

Trouble with Designjet 110plus: Cannot get Cyan or Black to print. When I change the printhead, the machine does not recognize it for both black and cyan. Machine DOES NOT show error on any printhead or cartridge. I am using a Continuous Ink System, however, have tried this with HP cartridges as well. No errors there either. Ink is collecting on the cyan printhead but not printing on paper. There is not even a hint of cyan on the calibration pages. Ink is not coming through the black printhead. If I wipe the black printhead on the damp paper towel and reinsert, I get black for the first and half of the second calibration pages but none on the third. I have soaked both printheads overnight in alcohol to remove any dried ink or blockages and when wiped on a damp paper towel, both printheads leave sufficient ink behind to indicate the are flowing. I have taken apart the mechanism that the printheads go into and cleaned the pins, soaked them overnight in alcohol, used a syringe to pull ink through the pins and ensure there are no blockages in the pins or the tubes. I have taken apart the mechanism that the cartridges go into and clean the springs, guides and pins there also by soaking in alcohol and injecting/removing ink to ensure no blockages. I have cleaned the cartidges and they are full. No kinks in any of the lines. The questions: Why does the machine not recognize NEW printheads? Why if the machine shows no errors will it not print cyan or black? Why does black print for a page and a half after being ''primed'' on a damp paper towel and then stop? PLEASE HELP!!!! I AM AT MY WITS END AND THERE IS MORE INK ON ME THAN ON THE PAPER!!! -Paula

Hi Paula, first of all, take out the Continuous Ink System. Second, make sure that the new printhead are good and work propretl, try to get them in another HP 110, if their work good and at your HP not working good whitout your Continuous Ink System replace the carriage assesmbly, but before that verify tge tubes of ink. Good look

I have hp designjet 450c..the problem in printing.while printing it prints copy of the image also and not clear.i dnt know whts the problem..please help me..

That usually is caused by clogged or damaged printheads. There are 4 printheads, Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow. When you replace the printheads you need to calibrate the machine so the colors line up with one another.

HP5500 UV...after paper jam I have a replace lt cyan printhead message and recover black printhead.

The Lt Cyan printhead may have been damaged by the paper jam.

I recommend removing all the printheads and power cycling the machine (turn off then back on) Install the printheads and check that each one says OK. Replace any that show recover or bad. (HP will replace free if it is under warranty - return it to the store you purchased it from)

Our hp designjet 110plus is not printing black though the indicator shows we have black ink, what seems to be the problem? -Leh

Hi,
Check whether the black cartridge is dry and whether it is releasing the ink properly.  This you can check by rubbing the paper on the place where the flows.
Else check with a new cartridge.  Even if the problem continues in the printer preferrence you have an option of service.  click on it and the problem will be fixed......!

How do I clean the HP designjet 110plus printhead

You need to go to the hp download site and download the System Maintenance Utility Software. Its free, but you need it before you can clean the print heads. also, for some reason it works best when hooked to the network, not directly to Computer.

Printer Designjet 110 Plus not working

Ink supplies Description HP part number 11 Black Printhead C4810A 11 Cyan Printhead C4811A 11 Magenta Printhead C4812A 11 Yellow Printhead C4813A 10 Black Ink Cartridge C4844A 82 Cyan Ink Cartridge C4911A 82 Magenta Ink Cartridge C4912A 82 Yellow Ink Cartridge C4913A
alot of printers now if the ink in the cartidge is the first ones placed in the system from the box are those that are only half full if not less depending on the maker but I know HP only fills their cartidges only just under the half way make but the printer sees it as a new cartrige because of the chips programming.

Have you tryed to turn the power of and let is sit for about 5 mins and turn it back on with the same result? (ushally a yellow error light is on)

Also if you can find the settings to only print in black and white on the printers properties that might also work as well for a temp fix.

But ushally once one ink runs out it likes to do that you where correct with the "is it because of the finished color cartidges.." either that or the carts all have finally expired.

Nice printer by the way.

But your best way to do it would be to replace the color carts and if not reasonable to do now there is also a way to reset the color carts so that the printer thinks that there is ink in them as well.

hope this helps you a bit if you need more info please let us know.
