My Whirlpool dryer will not start. The lights come on but it just shows 'sensing', but dryer will not start turning. It is only just over a year old.

One of the checks this unit performs when it starts is the drum belt, if the belt has slipped, broke or stretched, it wont start. You have to remove the top of the unit to see the drum.

Whirlpool Dryer 3.5 years old has power but will not turn on. Not a breaker problem. has electricity. Drum turns by hand. No noise is heard.

we had a very similar problem on our DLE3777W LG clothes dryer. It would power up normally, all drying options and speed and heat selections behaved normally but when you tried to start the dryer the start button and the time remaining indicator would flash until the unit was turned off. Called LG and Best Buy and they could only tell us to contact a repair shop. But I realized that the light was burned out inside, so I replaced it myself to avoid being charged by the technician I was about to call. The burned out light bulb WAS the problem, as soon as it was replaced the dryer worked perfectly. I think I saved a couple of hundred dollars with a $4 light bulb. I would have been mad to have the technician show up and charge me $120 just to show up, then an hourly rate and then the bulb.

Dryer wont start - no lights

Dryer door does not think it is closed. There is a sensor on the top of the door that is probably not making contact with the door. Trying pushing the top part of the door and holding it then press the start button.. if the unit starts running then you know what it is. I just had one of these dryers delivered today and had to find out about this by myself tonight!!

Clunking whirlpool drier

rollers and or felts are cheap,
much cheaper than a new dryer,
and nobody now makes a dryer that will last 25 years.
I have maytags 1972, 1974, kenmore 1968, speed queen 1980,
in each apartment building used by 11 families, to keep them running costs peanuts

new dryers?, - 3 years is all you get before the $$$ starts
