Pull the power cord for a few minutes and then plug it back in, I had one burn out a few months ago and it had to be replaced, it wouldn't even turn on. If you have a card in it, try to reposition the card in the slot..

I have a vast set top box. I live in Cape York. When I returned from holidays the tv displays "Searching for signal..."

you seem to have done all the correct things, have you hard reset the box, i.e pull the power lead when box is turned on ? if this doesn't work then i would return the box as must have warranty as 6 months old, if you can borrow another box any make will do and see if that will tune in then you know if it's your box or the dish

I have a Cisco4742hdc set top box and I cannot get the controller to work with the box

If it is the original remote and you can't get it to work, you should take it to repair and if can't be repaired, buy a new one.. I don't believe any universal remote should work for a Cisco4742hdc set top box

Everything works fine. Just want to know what this abbreviation is: STB Refw Design. STB is Set Top Box..what is the rest? Thanks

The rest is "Reference Design". Only a few companies created the set top box chips/electronics plans. These companies license their designs to the various vendors/builders of STB boxes.

I hope this helps.

(Sometimes you'll see a reference to the STB RDK. This is a set-top box reference design kit. It's pre-packaged set up for the manufacturers.)

How to tune channels on a 14 inch RCA tv?

You need a good set top box, either Hi definition or standard Pal, to make any CRT Television work. These days, non digital TV do work well but they no longer accept analog signals, but when connected to a set top box that receives digital signals, the box converts the digitals signals to analo and sends then to the RCA inputs of your TV and not via an antenna connected to the set top box and the TV.

In my tv i have connected set top box to av3 i can see the pictures but no volume. i have have a dvd payer connected to HDMI1 and it is working ok. it used to work ok but some how there is no volume...

When it is certain that the volume on the TV functions properly try to ensure also that the set top box also produces volume. This you can do by connecting the set top box directly to your DVD auxillary channel. If any volume comes out of that then you can be sure the fault is from your connection. But if on the other hand the the box does not produce any volume then the set top box is faulty. Therefore you have to send it back to your supplier.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

How to connect settop box to tv with no avs

You will have 2 UHF plugs on your set top box.. One for input (aerial) and 1 for output (TV). Connect your main aerial to set top box UHF input and connect an Output UHF lead from set top box to TV. Next switch on set top box and retune tv on a spare channel until you get set top box channels (good idea to switch on menu on set top box so you know you are tuned into set top signal )

Sound from my tv card, skydude doesnt work on my hp laptop, vista home premium

You haven't mention about the connections you have with the SKYDUDE TV box. TV boxes usually have AV (audio and video) connections i.e., two seperate connections for audio and video signals. If you are using a set top box to connect to the tv box you can connect the "video out" of the set top box to the "video in" of the tv box using a cable. and "audio out" of the set top box to the "audio in" of the TV box using another cable. Some TV boxes don't have the "audio in" option. In that case you have to connect the "audio out" from the set top box directly to the "audio in" of the computer. This pin you can find just near the "speaker" and "mic" connections.

If you have an S-Video pin in your TV box, you can use an adopter wire to connect two "audio in" and one "video in" connections to the same pin. And you have to select S-Video option in the software installed.

If you have "RF in" option in your TV box, you can use use AV to RF converter to connect your set top box to the TV box.

Thank you,
