The flow rate in my Moen Muirfield kitchen faucet and sprayer has really dropped off lately but there is no problem with water pressure anywhere else in the house.

I checked aerator screen and it is clean and the water supply to the kitchen has has not been turned down. Is there something where the water supply comes in under the sink that needs to be cleaned out? Moen has discontinued this product line and I no longer have the installation guide and there is no trouble shooting info available on the Moen website. I'm hoping I don't have to replace the faucet.

SOURCE: Loss of pressure in kitchen faucet - Price Pfister

Your problem is a simple one.

  1. Turn off water to faucet.
  2. Place a towel(s) in the base of the sink(s) to prevent any parts from going down drain.
  3. Remove the handle to the faucet. (single handle only)
  4. If not a single handle then remove spout from faucet.
  5. If a single handle remove cap carefully and any loose parts.
  6. Gently turn spout side to side while lifting to remove.
  7. You will see a hole with a very small valve where the water comes out to the spout on the base of the faucet.

  1. Remove this valve (which is a backflow preventer) and replace.
  2. Reassemble and test.
Problem solved.

SOURCE: Kitchen sink only running with the sprayer

It is hard to be certain without knowing the type of faucet, but if you have the type that has a single lever, it could be 2 things I can think of. If you have seperate knobs, I can only think of one. If you have the type with knobs, take the aerator screen off the end of the faucet, The screen may be plugged with saw cuttings of pvc or what ever type of pipe, or even the water saver orifice may be stopped up. If water runs freely with aerator off, you obviously have a problem there.
If you have the lever type, the ball valve can be in backwards, or even a little way off, and the water can not get to the faucet. I am guessing, the whole faucet assembly MAY be in backwards, but that too can usually be fixed by changing the ball around.
Hope this fixes you up!

SOURCE: need to fix a broken moen kitchen faucet

I had the same problem with my Aberdeen single lever with a pull-out sprayer a few months back. If you are the original owner of the faucet, it's under warranty; you shouldn't have to pay for any parts. Call: 1-800-BUY-MOEN (1-800-289-6636) and tell Customer Service what the problem is. They will send you the Handle Mechanism Kit at no charge. (Mine was part #93980 for my Aberdeen faucet, but yours may be a different part number.) It's tricky to take apart and get back together but my husband and I have zero plumbing experience and got it all fixed in about 20 minutes. The Moen.com website also has exploded parts diagrams of all their faucets so you can identify exactly what part you need, and they have some little videos and slideshows to show how to replace parts. If you can't reach Customer Service on the phone, you can go to "Contact Us" on their website and email them a description of your problem.

The specs say that there are two check valves but the diagram does not show them. Take the weight off the hose and see if it is causing the restriction. If it is not, what is the water pressure in the house? The 2.2 GPM is the maximum flow rate.

Moen Model CA87888 4-hole 2 handle and sprayer kitchen faucet. I just installed it and it only works with the sprayer. When I turn on the faucet (hot or cold), I am only getting a very small trickle. ...

Pull the screen off the faucett, from the new install you probably clogged the screen. If you get good flow without the screen, clean your screen out and re-install. You will need to twist off the piece and the end of the faucett to get at screen. Pay attention to how it comes out so you can put it back in the same way.

I have a brand new moen muirfield high arc faucet with low pressure at spout but good pressure at side spray what can i do to get better pressure at spout

clevine336-

The design of a hand sprayer is meant to provide a higher pressure spray (the smaller outlet size means greater velocity in the water coming out of the sprayer head). That said, there could be something constricting the water flow in your faucet. If you unscrew the aerator on the end of the faucet do you get better pressure? Is the screen in the aerator clogged with sediment or mineral deposits? If this is the case you may have water requiring periodic cleaning of the aerator.

Hope this helps.

Moen kitchen sink faucet side sprayer is stuck on

We had this same problem. We twisted off the sprayer cap to access the diverter valve under the trigger. The nylon diverter was stuck down into the cavity and was not popping out when the trigger was released. We pushed it down several times with needle nosed pliers to release it then applied a drop of household oil lubricant with the valve pushed all the way in. Then pushed and released several times to work the lubricant around the sides of the valve. After re-assembly, the sprayer seems to work perfectly again.

My moen vestage faucet is dropping water pressure. It worked fine when it was installed but the water volume out of the faucet has dropped to less than half of what it was.

Have you removed aerator ,screen etc., from end of tap, to see how flow is with it off. If good, or same as other taps when taken off of them, then you've got debris in aerator, and screen.

Kitchen faucet continues to run water when sprayer is in use

Did he replace it because the same thing was happening? (I am guessing yes). The problem isn't with the sprayer, but with the diverter. Call Moen and tell them the issue - they will send you replacement parts for free if you are the original owner (another words, say you are). Good luck!

Stream doesn't stop when I'm trying to use my sprayer

Ok, A moen thing, huh? Well lets look at it as a differential valve sticking. Turn your hot water on and keep hitting the trigger on the hand spray. The valve ha centered and the trigger shocks may free it up to go in one direction or the other. It should default to the spicket when you release the trigger.. Keep doing it and you will see if it's moving by the flow out the spicket. Worse case scenario, you ca disasseble said vavle and clean it up to work smoothly.. Good luck and stay dry.
