I have a Macbook Pro laptop, OSX 10.9.5. The iPhoto software will not download raw files from my Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS50 digital camera. iPhoto downloads the jpeg files fine.

Please do you have any advice as to how to get the raw files into iPhoto? FYI iPhoto will download both raw + jpeg files from my Canon EOS 50D camera. Thanks Bridget

Sadly the likelihood is now that iPhoto is deprecated, there's going to be no way to do it directly. However, you could try using Adobe's DNG Converter software (free download - yay!) and then see if iPhoto will import those. Because raw files differ from camera to camera and manufacturer to manufacturer, software companies periodically issue new raw interpreters for their photo software. Since iPhoto is defunct, Apple aren't doing this any more. Have you tried Apple's Photos instead? You may need to do a system update to achieve this as 10.9.5 is pretty old now.

Are the videos in AVCHD Lite or Motion JPEG? Most computers can't handle AVCHD.....most of the time, you can only play them on an HD tv.

My new Panasonic/Lumix DMC-SZ02K Digital Camera only came with PC software and I own a Macbook Pro. Can you tell me where I can find a free download for the Mac compatible drivers please? Thanks!!

You don't need a driver.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

Need firmware to open RAW pics on Panasonic DMC-FZ100

It's not the firmware, it's the software on your computer. You need to update Adobe Camera RAW. You can get it here for Windows or Mac.

I have a Panasonic Lmix DMC-TZ22 connected to my macbook pro, I can read the photo files but can't open my video files. What am I doing wrong?

If the videos were shot in AVCHD Lite, Macs can't read them. I have the same problem. My two solutions are: 1. I can download them to my wife's pc with PHOTOfunSTUDIO installed. 2. I can transform them and burn to DVD using Toast Titanium 10 on my Mac.

Nikon's software supports Raw directly. There are 3rd party raw downloaders available for windows machines, probably have Mac versions too. Google for raw file software.

I cant read Lumix G1 RAW files with photoshop cs3

It's possible that Photoshop hasn't issued a plug-in for your camera. Check with them. Didn't you get some software with the camera to read the raw files?

Try using "Image Capture," it's an application that comes with Leopard, located in the applications folder. It might do the trick.
