Maytag mav7257 aww. It started smelling like burnt rubber then shut down and wouldn't come back on. I waited a couple of hours and now it runs ok but there's a loud grinding noise. I checked the belt and although it's still intact I can see where it was burning. I turned it on without the belt and the motor ran without any noise. I turned the pulley for the water pump by hand (without the belt on) and it sounds awful noise and turns like it's grinding. It also catches sometimes and I have to give it a good turn to free it. I think I need another water pump. What say you? Also how much does one cost?

Thanks for the quick response. I kinda thought that might be it. I was just wondering if that was a common thing to happen so thanks for the input.
