Step 1 Press the "Power" key to wake the Kindle from Sleep mode. The Password prompt displays.
Step 2 Type your best guess at the password into the Password input box. Retype password guesses a total of four times. After the fourth incorrect password entry, the Reset dialog box opens asking if you would like to reset the Kindle Fire.
Step 3 Tap "OK Reset" to reset the device to original factory settings.
Connect the Kindle Fire to a wireless network and re-register the device with your Amazon account.
Tips

Tap the "Show" option in the Password dialog box to display the password characters as you type.
Visit the Amazon.com Reset Password page to reset your Amazon.com password (see Resources).

You have to either hard reset the Kindle Fire and then sign in with the correct Amazon account it sounds like either the Kindle is set up with someone else's account or you not login to Amazon

I can't register my Amazon Fire HD8

To buy content and deliver it to your device, you will need to connect to a wireless network and register your Fire tablet to an Amazon account.
If you are setting up a new Fire tablet for the first time, you'll be taken through setup instructions and will have the chance to register your device. Follow the instructions on your screen.
To register your Fire tablet outside of the initial setup screens:

From Home, swipe down from the top of the screen and then tap Settings.
Tap My Account.
Tap Register.
- If you already have an Amazon account: Enter your Amazon account information, and then tap Continue.
- If you do not have an Amazon account: Tap Start Here, and then follow the instructions to set up a new account.

Note: If you've forgotten your Amazon account password, you can reset it by requesting that a personalized "password reset" link be sent to your e-mail address. To learn more, go to Reset Your Account Password .
If you need to deregister your device from an Amazon account, follow the steps above, and then tap Deregister. After you deregister your device from an Amazon account, you won't be able to access items stored in the Cloud for that account.

I have a 2011 kindle fire, and it won't display a lot of web pages. Is there an update? Or some other fix?

Step 1: Hard Reset: Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds and then release.

Step 2: Power it back on: Wait until the device has completely turned off, then press the power button to restart your Kindle Fire.

If the above doesn't work, Amazon recommends that you try charging the Kindle Fire longer and then trying the hard reset again.

Download a program called Easy Installer. It will uninstall any program you don't want anymore.

Screen doesn't adjust to the way its being held

Try a hard reset by holding the Power button down for 60 seconds, then release. Wait 60 seconds and turn the tablet back on, if the Kindle continues to act odd, contact Amazon for a replacement, this is not normal behavior and may be a sign of something serious failing.
