SOURCE: Asko washing machine door not closing
Changing the door lock is one of the easiest things to do in a washing machine. Just note which wires go where & get a new door switch.

I may have fixed my similar problem- I opened up the machine to get access to the control panel as tech17 advised- then in addition to disconnecting the mylar ribbon, I disconnected all the connections to the control panel.... keep in mind to ensure not to confuse any of the connectors you disconnect. Running a cycle at this time... seems as if working.. can't tell if water is running or just the motor- -- HA! -- i confirmed no water being pumped in.... We then found a float switch (Item 30 on schematic) that got loose from its casing on the front interior right lower side... we put that switch into its proper place and now ALL IS WELL!!!! Yippee!!!

If it's a tiny red L.E.D. like a car alarm indicator, then it's to let you know the imobilizer is set, factory fitted and set to work from your key sensor(built into the ignition switch and key)
SOURCE: Lights on the Asko D1996 keep blinking
This depends on the blinking pattern. Of the eight lights on the panel, if the four on the left blink on and then the right four lights blink on as the left ones go off, and keep blinking back and forth, that just means the mode has been set and the Start button pressed. After closing the door it should just continue on wherever it is in the cycle. (This is normal operation).
If you hold down the Start button, this resets the dishwasher. If you then close the door, nothing will happen because it thinks it's done.
If the lights are blinking in a different pattern, such as they all blink on and off in unison, that indicates an error condition and needs to be diagnosed. If the pump is not running constantly, then at least it's not because water is leaking out somewhere.

Most likely your door sensors are out of alignment. Make sure they are pointed directly at one another.
