1. Failure phenomenon
a. No explosion sound in the cylinder, white smoke from the exhaust pipe;
b. Black smoke from the exhaust pipe.
Practice has proved that in order to maintain the smooth start ofdiesel generators, four necessary conditions must be met: a. It must have a certain speed; b. The oil and gas circuits must be unobstructed; C. The cylinders are well compressed; d. The fuel supply timing. From the above prerequisites for starting a diesel generator, it can be inferred that the diesel generator cannot start or is not easy to start.

First locate the oil pressure switch and see if you can bypass it,then see if it runs. If not check the fuel filter and fuel pump,make sure solonoid for fuel pump is kicking on.

Loosen the fuel cap when you shut it down tighten it before you restart. If this fixes it you have a plugged fuel vent. HTH

At the controller, you need to see if it is actually sending electricity out of the Generator/Alternator, have a look where the leads from the power making unit mates, (Think of it as a motor in reverse) onto the board. There should be an AC Voltage there, then, work back, or out from there, trace the Voltage until it stops, thats the problem... Check the Breaker isn't tripped or faulty too.

The plunger is stuck where the governor rod which is spring attached to the frame is. If you locate the governor metal rod on the lower level of the unit. zrock it to a higher rpm as you would a car carburator from under the hood.
This will free the plunger and the green light will go on and your current meter will register 120 volts.
When you lay up the generator for quite some time it often sticks closed. With monthly start up you will no have this problem reoccurr.

I not you said you "checked the oil level" My experience with most portable generators is that they must me positioned as level as possible and the oil level must be fully serviced as full as you can get it without oil leaking back out of the dip-stick hole on units WITHOUT an extended dip-stick. Unless those conditions are met the low oil level sensor ends up presenting a false low oil signal and it grounds out the ignition. DO you have Spark at all? If you do have spark and it still does not run respond with the MODEL number off of your ENGINE and I will show you where the main fuel jets are located so you can make sure the orifice is clean.
Some units have a fuel solenoid that presses into the main fuel jet recessed area and shut off the fuel to the carb. This is also an area that debris causes havoc.
