My phone has been slow and unresponsive at times. Today I charged my phone after the battery almost died. After takiing it off the charger it died. Is it dead forever?

It worked for 5 minutes after taking it off the charger and then just died. I have cleaned the battery terminals, tried everything I can think of. Is there hope?

I tried the soft reset when it wasn’t plugged in and when it was. It didn’t do anything at all. Any other ideas? Would a bad battery keep it from powering on even when plugged in? Thank you so much for the help.

It would be odd for a battery to catastrophically fail from one minute to the next, but having said that Lithium Ion batteries are highly volatile. My advice is to take it to a mall phone repair shop. They can open it up and test the battery. It may also be a faulty on-off switch. Depending on make and model, spares are available, and batteries definitely are.

SOURCE: I can't find where the fuse box for the radio for corolla 2006

Pg. 250 of your 2006 Owner's Manual shows the location of the Fuse Boxes. There is one under your hood on the driver's side and the other is under the dash just to the left of steering wheel. Pg 272, will show you how to replace the fuses. Pg. 286-287 gives a diagram and description of each fuse and what part of the electrical system it enables.

I blew a fuse while using my Cigarette lighter/power outlet to inflate my tires. It took out the power to the car stereo, the clock below it, and the two Cigarette lighter/power outlets.

This portion of the electrical system correspondeds to the fuse in position 32 on pg. 287 of the manual.

Your going to have to get on your back with a flashlight and open up the fuse box under the dash by the steering wheel. The lid of the fuse box shows the positions of the fuse and their amperage rating. Like I said, replace the fuse in postion 32 (15 Amp). There is a spare 15 Amp fuse in the fuse box under the hood (easy to get to, see the diagrams in the owner's manual). There is also a fuse puller tool next to the spare fuses.

I hope you would be able to find the radio Fuse.
Any further questions regarding replacement, feel free to contact me.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Bought my phone yesterday...Battery was losing charge quickly.. battery was down to half charge after about 15 minutes of fully charging.. Was trying to let the phone die completley then fully charge it,...

Ok first of all you should never let a phone die out of charge at all.IF it dies out of charge there are chances it might charge again once you charge it but in some cases it wont, you need to boost your battery just like jump start your car.It cannot be done anywhere except some service centre. If you are not taking to your service center , then you need to buy a new battery.

Meter Explanation

You are correct on all accounts. A high number means you dying battery is sucking more juice from the Schumacker. A low number means the battery is not as thirsty. That's how I always think of how to read the meter on mine. Slow charge is a better, deeper charge. The quick charge will get you going, but you should maybe follow it up using the normal mode - car alternator and prolonged drive time. I never use quick charge, personally.

I use the phone only very occasionally. Hence very often, I let the battery die, and re-charge it when I need to use the phone. The problem is that every time after recharging it, all I can see is the...

Ok, this one is kind of odd, but through experience I know it's right. When you plug in the charger to most phones, the phone will use that power to run the phone as well as charge the battery. However, in this case, the phone does not use the power supplied by the charger except to charge the battery. So, until the battery has enough power, you cannot use it. Even though the phone is plugged into the charger, the battery is what is being used, not the power coming from the wall. I hope that was clear enough, I know it's an odd situation.
