I have a onan commercial generator .I have changed plugs air filter fuel pump fuel filters only use 98 fuel the generator just stops not even under load come up fault code 36 which means stops without comard even when I am driving around town and the generator is not under load it will just stop for no reason very frustrating can any one help please

well they have an expensive card in there that controls rpm and voltage to maintain 120v. there is a safety for oil temp in some of those maybe bad try bypassing it after it heats up to pin point it. maybe time to clean brushes?

check oil sensor and oil level check tank for sediment and lines and crb for sediment also coil maybe going bad!!! :)

I'd be looking at removing IAC valve, and cleaning it out with throttle body spray cleaner, and checking mounting gasket as well. Usually some success with cleaning it & spray ports it came out of, but if not you may need to replace it.

Yes it wil not let you run your motorhome out of fuel they set it up that way so you dont strand yourself you may have a air bubble in the fuel line to the generator try blowing air generator fule line back into the tank

Check the spark plug and the ignition coil for good sparking.

Get the spark plug out, or with another spark plug connected to high voltage cable, outside the motor, the outer part of the plug connected to motor ground and see if spark is present at cranking.
