SOURCE: bobbin filling on Singer 626

The Singer 626 has a self-winding bobbin. You place the empty bobbin in the bobbin thingie (sorry for being so untechnical). On the left of the bobbin you will see a "lever" with a circular top on it (I think it is red-ish) Again, sorry for being so untechnical. Press the "lever" down. Thread your machine, thread the needle, wrap the excess thread from the needle around the knob that tightens the needle and holds it in place and press your foot down on the foot pedal. The bobbin will automatically wind as you hold the foot pedal down. Do not wind the thread onto the bobbin past the outer white line.

The opening fits on the right side, toward back. There is the silver ring with the slot in it for the bobbin. That slot is facing the sewer.

My bobbin in my Singer sewing machine 4522 case will not click back in. It is a Singer model 4522. It had been stored and unused for a while. I oiled it up and bought new Singer clear plastic bobbins.

Did you get Class 66 bobbins? See https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/singer-4522-sewing-machine-parts.aspx?index=19 . Singer sewing machines use a variety of different bobbins.

I hope this helps.

(I have an older Singer Touch N' Sew. Those bobbins are easy to spot. Newer machines can use Class 15, Class 15J or Class 66 bobbins, https://www.singer.com/sewing-resources/complete-bobbin-guide . Some machines can only use either the plastic or metal bobbins of a particular size. Others can use either metal or plastic bobbins.)

Where can I get a manual?

Oh, that's really a lovely vintage machine and appears in very nice condition too. If it is in good working condition, you have a keeper.

Since there aren't any manuals available, you can look at various web sites and videos of how to use similar vintage machines. Sorry, you're probably not going to find instructions that match your machine exactly. If you become very frustrated, check if there is a beginning sewing class locally where they will show you how to use your machine. Or perhaps take it to a sewing machine shop and ask them to show you how to use it. FWIW, it probably could use a good cleaning and oiling before you begin using it. (These old vintage machines do need frequent oiling with fresh, good quality sewing machine oil.)

Just offhand, it appears the bobbin winder is on the lower right front and side of the machine. The spool pin in front is where the thread spool goes. The thread feeds under and up the silver button at the right. Start the bobbin by handwinding about 10 wraps of thread onto the bobbin then insert the bobbin onto the bobbin pin at the top right (just left of the rubber tire). The silver flap then snaps down over the bobbin. Release the center knob on the handwheel (turn the center counter clockwise) while holding the outer handwheel with the other hand. Then press the foot controller gently to wind the bobbin. When the bobbin is wound, remember to activate the handwheel again by turning the center wheel clockwise.

Did some research on vintage Singer models. There are some similarities to your machine, ie Singer 457 and 320.

What kind of bobbin singer 301 machine use

The Singer 301 uses the same bobbin as the Singer 221 (also known as a Featherweight). Not surprisingly it's called a Class 221/301 bobbin and is Singer part number 45785. If you don't have a Singer dealer or large sewing machine repair shop in your area, I would suggest purchasing from a reputable online seller such as Vintage Sewing or Sewing Machine 221 Sale. Below is a picture of what both the older and newer style of this bobbin looks like. 11da97d.jpg
