HL-R5067w samsung Black and White Only

All of a sudden the TV just is Black and White. I unplugged everything & powered off by disconnecting the power cable and left it overnight.
The menus and everything native to the tv is in black and white. I plugged in the cable and video came console and everything is in black and white.
I don't hear any noises or anything else.

noise you are hearing can be the fans inside with bad bearings and or what im assuming given the info you gave.More likely the motor inside the optics engine (color wheel) is making noise..This will also cause picture problems..very expensive to repair..

Samsung hl-r5067w, sometimes when I cut on the tv it will have white vertical lines all the way through tv and gray background, no picture but you can hear the shows and turn channels but cannot pull up...

Bad capacitors on the power supply board, they are vented swollen or puffed up on Top.

Picture is scrambled after power surge. Have a

Check if it has a scrambled image on all sources ie - DVD- VCR - cable/satellite box. Since the PIP is normal it sounds like the signal source is bad.
Post back with more info about your set up (what's hooked to your TV) if you need more info

Your model has a maximum resolution of 720p. What you might want to do is make sure that both your cable/sat box and game stations are outputting at no more than 720 resolution. It's easy to assume that all HDTVs may accept a higher signal, and while they might, some of the scene changes or handshakes may make that operation cause the symptoms you describe.
