Temp sensor not detected or thermistor problem. This is probably not something that you are able to repair yourself.

SOURCE: Hoover Condenser Tumble dryer HSC 170 not heating up

The heating element have got old and brittle over time and finally gave up the ghost. But it is not always the element. It could be one of the safety Hi-limits have blown. All parts of the dryer will have continuity if its working properly. Test for continuity by using a meter set on Ohms,or use a poor man's meter. You can make your own poor man's meter by using an ordinary flashlight . Break the circuit in the flashlight and add a couple of wires to it so that you can make the light come on in the flashlight, that's right hot wire that flashlight. When the bulb lights up you have a circuit! You now have a poor man's meter. The next step is to check each little gizmo on the dryer that the wires attach to. All the limits attached to the side of the heat element, the door switch (when door is closed) etc.should have continuity (closed circuit)(the light should come on in the poor man's meter) If you come across an thing near the blower housing with 2 wires attached to it, that is a thermal limit, a safety or a control thermostat (So as not to get a false circuit you need to remove one of the wires to each thing you check) Look for lint buildup or blocked vent going out the house. If everything is good and you have paid the electric bill, then the timer could be bad.

SOURCE: Hoover 381/1 condenser tumble dryer empty water

Got a similar problem with an HNC172. The supplier said it is the water indicator sensor that is not working. He fixed it! It still stops!!! Clear lint from the trap in the door. Empty what little water there is in the tank, then make sure it has a good shove to get it back into place and the tube/catch is well joined back. Also take out the condenser unit above water tank, stick in the bath and put the shower hose through it to clear lint. Recommend getting a tea strainer over the plug hole or you block your drain as quite a bit comes out. It helped for a while, but it still has problems. Might be the thermostat for the heater? check the error codes. They flash a different number of times within 15 seconds to indicate which problem is happening.

SOURCE: HOOVER NEXTRA HNL71663D WASHER DISPLAYING E05

I had exactly the same problem. After removing the back panel, I checked the two wires that go into the thermostat, they came away with no problem (not a good thing). Both of the wires were very brittle. I restripped them back and put two new connectors on, the problem was solved. Sounds obvious but make sure you turn the power off!

I have a hoover vhd 9163zd with error code E05,what component does it refer to being at fault, where is the component located

Error Code 05 is a NTC fault, either open circuit or shorted.
If during the water heating step in the wash cycle, the water temperature sensor (NTC) value is out of range, the "E05" error code will be displayed.

Possible Causes / Procedure:
1. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
2. Check the water temperature sensor. Check connections to the water temperature sensor.
3. Check resistance of heating element, if present on this model. (abnormal = infinity).

Replace failed component. It could be the sensor or the temperature control module (NTC module).

Good luck.

Mid wash machine stops with display e05

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Unfortunately there are different meanings for 'e05/F05' depending on the model of your washer. The majority state 'NTC' failure.
???
'NTC' stands for 'Negative Temperature Co-efficient' or water temperature thermostat to you and me!
One way of hopefully getting around the problem is first to ensure the washer is empty then pour the contents of a couple of boiling kettles into it. That can sometimes kick the device into correct action. It's worth a try anyway before having to call in the repair man ;-0)

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!
