If it's a quill stem, you have to loosen the bolt at the top of the stem, and then tap it (the bolt) with a hammer to release it. There will be a line on the stem portion that goes into the head tube of the bike that tells you how high the stem can safely go. You will likely get to this maximum setting before the cables are stressed. Tightening the stem back in the head tube is just aligning it and then using the wrench again. There are Park Tools videos (and others) on Youtube that show this procedure, and cable replacement, if you need it.

SOURCE: Quinny Buzz Handlebar

I have the same problem too! To remove the handlebar set it to its longest position, then shorten it by 1-2cm. You will find that the plastic locking pin that you described is just a pair of lugs. With the handle bar in the above position you can then push both lugs in similtaneously while at the same time levering the plastic part out of the tube. when both sides are released the complete handlebar can be removed. From there it's fairly straightforward to strip down.

My problem now is that I can't find anywhere to get the parts from.

Any joy yet?

SOURCE: Extending subwoofer cable

The subwoofer signal is fairly hot, so you can go pretty far without significant signal degradation.

Use standard shieled audio cables and cable couplers to do this. I wold say you cold run it 50 feet without creating a problem.

SOURCE: max cable lenght for cat 6e cable

The cable standard provides performance of up to 250 MHz and is suitable for 10BASE-T / 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T / 1000BASE-TX (Gigabit Ethernet). It is expected to suit the 10GBASE-T (10Gigabit Ethernet) standard, although with limitations on length if unshielded Cat 6 cable is used. Category 6 cable can be identified by the printing on the side of the cable sheath.

Cat5e is suitable for 10/100/1000baseT ethernet for 100 meters, when properly installed.
Cat 6 is also good for 10 gig ethernet for 37 meters, but that is pretty short, unless just in a server room.
There is no Cat 6e, but Cat 6A will be good for 10/100/1000/10GbaseT ethernet for 100 meters.
Unshielded Twisted Pair has no ground shield around the wires. It is the standard in the US, where most network standards were defined. There are extensions to the standards to allow for the more common in Europe, Shielded Twisted Pair.
Some Cat-6 cables are too large and may be difficult to attach to 8P8C connectors without a special modular piece and are technically not standard compliant. If components of the various cable standards are intermixed, the performance of the signal path will be limited to that of the lowest category. The maximum allowed length of a Cat-6 cable is 100 meters (330 ft) when used for 10/100/1000baseT and 37 meters (120 ft) when used for 10GbaseT. This applies for UTP cables only. Shielded Cat 6 and Cat 7 cables are capable of 100m.....sodeep

How do I adjust the height of handle bars on a Nishiki pueblo bike

According to the manual:

If your bike has a "threadless" stem (fig. 6) your dealer may be able to change handlebar height by moving height adjustment spacers from below the stem to above the stem, or vice versa. Otherwise, you'll have to get a stem of different length or rise. Consult your dealer. Do not attempt to do this yourself, as it requires special knowledge.

If your bike has a "quill" stem (fig. 7) you can ask your dealer to adjust the handlebar height a bit by adjusting stem height. A quill stem has an etched or stamped mark on its shaft which designates the stem's "Minimum Insertion" or "Maximum Extension". This mark must not be visible above the headset.

How do I raise the handlebars? I have used the allen key to undo the central screw, but there are no hex nuts to undo. ?????

The handlebars are attached to the 'stem', which by the sound of it extends into the frame and is held in place with an expander-wedge. This is a 'headset' style fitting and it is quite common for these to become seized over time. To free it up loosen the top stem bolt until it is proud of the stem and give the bolt head a whack with a rubber-faced mallet (or similar) and the stem should move easily then. When re-installing make sure you don't raise the stem over the maximum insertion height (usually marked). Make sure any cabling for brakes, etc. will remain unaffected by raising the stem.

How to adjust the handlebars on a bike

To adjust the handlebar position on your Raleigh, loosen the nut on the bottom of the stem extension. Use a 13mm or 14mm wrench, whichever fits. Do not use pliers or Vicegrips! It is upside down, so be careful to turn it counter-clockwise while looking at it from the bottom. To change the handlebar height, you need to loosen the bolt on top of the vertical part of the stem. You may need to tap it with a small hammer to break it loose after it is loosened about 1/4 inch. Now you can adjust the handlebar height, being careful not to exceed the maximum height engraved on the stem. You should also carefully align the bars with the front wheel before tightening the bolt. If you do not understand the terms used here, you should take the bike to a bicycle repair shop.

Adjust handlebar height on Schwinn Varsity

I'm answering 7 years later. I have a Schwinn Varsity 2500 Bike made probably in 2015. The Schwinn Varsity Bike is not set up the same way as a traditional bike. I loosened the center compression bolt and the two side stem clamp bolts and it came loose where I can adjust it up or down but, there's nothing to tighten the slack up below. I did some research. My original post here was to add or remove a spacer. I think you can remove a spacer to lower but, I don't think the stem is long enough to add another one. I've seen they sell an extension that you can add-on to make the handle bars higher.

I want to adjust my handlebars from mountain biking position to street riding. How do I do that?

One man's road position is another man's mountain. Which DIRECTION do you wish to go with them?

Depending on its current orientation and deviation from 90 degrees (known as rise) the stem could simply be flipped to change the height.

Is it possible to increase handlebar height on a 21 speed Exile?

Within small limits.

Getting Riser Bars or simply flipping the stem over or getting one with a different rise and reach might give you the added height you need. If you LIKE the handlebars, the stem is the best and least-invasive option as most new ones come with front loaders (detachable front caps) that allow replacement without stripping components off one side of the handlebar. In minutes a Bicycle Shop could swap any number of them onto your bike for you to try.

How do u raise handlebar heigth on f400 bycycle

There are only a few ways to raise the height of your handlebars (the actual grip portion you hold onto)

1) - Raise the stem. How this is done is determined by what type of stem you have.
A. If the stem is inserted via a shaft into the frame, then you must loosen the bolt in the center of the shaft to raise and lower the stem. This has limitations (a line on the end of the inserted portion of stem) you can not go past the max insertion line. If you need it higher, then you need a new stem that allows for more height.
B. If the stem clamps around the fork steerer, then you can only raise the stem as high as the end of the fork. In some cases you can invert the stem for greater height. If you need greater height, then you will have to replace the stem with one that has greater angle.

2) - Replace the handlebars with ones that place the grips higher relative to where the bars clamp to the stem.

In all cases this would be a good project to take into your local bike shop, show them what you have and ask them for the best solution to raising your handlebars.

Things to keep in mind: When you raise the handlebars you increase the distance from the controls to the brakes and derailleurs. If you want to raise past a certain point you will need to replace your cables and housings as they will need to be longer.

DO NOT RAISE ANYTHING ABOVE THE LIMIT LINES: This will cause the bike to be unsafe and could fail causing a serious injury or worse.

Is there a way to raise the handle bar on my r6 2004

You can buy ready made Handlebar Risers, they come in pairs and are sized by handlebar diameter and of course the extended height you are after.
Risers are available from most bike accessory stores and are a simple bolt on item. Care must be taken with elongation of control cables, wiring and throttle "feel". Harley shops have gazillions of them, but at a premium of course. Cheers.

make sure that the maximum lenght for the label is set to something greater than the physical length of the label. I was having this issue with a 4x3 label. As soon as I increased the maximum lenght to 5 inches it worked.
