e5 is comp overload code . if you have infared remote for indoor units point at anyone while pushing all 3 buttons at the same time- 'mode' 'temp up' temp down' this will bring up OO where temp set point is normally displayed. scroll up or down with temp up or down buttons (1st digit only) untill you here the beeping sound change tone, this is the 1st part of the fault code. press mode once to change to 2nd digit, scroll again with up and down listening for change of beep- 2nd part of code ie "E5". press mode again will bring up afunny looking T-test mode. press mode again to exit. THATS VERY ACCURATE SOLUTION.SAVE IT FOR FUTURE.WISH U SUCCESS .REPLY FOR FURTHER ASSISTANCE IF REQUIRED.BYE

SOURCE: goodman mini split unit condensating and leaking

Hi, your evap. drain is block, i know you are smart, we can do this, remove front cover of evap.(indoor unit) check for location of screws, look carefully you will see drain connection and tray, try to clean, use mild cleaning solvent, or practical way push something flexible into tubing, also clear your air filter, and you'll be in good shape, also check leveling of evap(indoor unit), with spirit level, should be horozontally leved. good luck.

SOURCE: how to pump down a ductless air conditioner split unit to remove

if the unit contains R12 or R22 you are not permitted by law to do the work yoiurself .. you have to have a "certified" person to reclaim the freon ... you might be able to get away with removing R134A (check local law) if thats what it has ... there is a service port that you can hook gages/hoses/vacuum pump up to .. (if not, then one must be added, usually in the form of a saddle valve that penetrates a low side feed pipe ... you should vent it into an approved tank or bladder (like a big balloon) for disposal or reclamation .. there may be a community service in your area that comes out and reclaims freon from old refrigerators and such .. in my area there is a free service that will reclaim the refrigerant and take away the old equipment .. i think its free or low cost .. some people simply vent R134 to atmosphere but that is polluting and may violate some laws .. R134 was thought to pose little hazzard but that is being reconsidered now in many countries

you can become certified yourself by attending a class and taking an exam that shows you understand the dangers and are aware of the law ..

SOURCE: i need wiring manual for goodman mini split.

outside unit L1 and L2 are load (input 240vac)
then you have control voltage, usually yellow and blue (24vac) this connects to some 18/2 thermostat wire which goes inside as white and red.

note: this unit may only need 24v control which is 2 wires from the inside unit and also 3 wires 2 hot 1 ground for line voltage.

STANDARD WIRING
on the inside unit you have green, white, blue and red control wires.

on your thermostat you have white, red, yellow and green

you run the wire from the outside unit to the inside unit. then run a 18/4 wire to the thermostat if wired and join the following wires.

inside unit thermostat outside unit
green------------------------green
white-------------------------white
red----------------------------red
blue-------------------------------------------------------blue
yellow--------------------yellow

I have an older Goodman mini-split A/C unit, Model# MSG18HRN1W. On colder nights, at or just before freezing, in heat mode, the unit shuts itself of, and all 4 lights blink repeatedly.

It is meant to shut off when it gets so cold that the unit cannot make warm air from outside air that is too cold. When it reaches that situation, it should be switching the heating effort to the built in resistance heating. In other words, it gives up and directs that many KW of electricity go straight into heater coils, like and electrical dryer has. It is very expensive to heat this way. Most whole house heat pumps can't handle cold air. The newer mini split ductless heat pumps lower can work with outside air temperature below freezing depending on the manufacturer.

Goodman mini split fan is on all the time

When a/c is turned on the fan in the unit inside always stays on.
There is a fan ; long tube that should be removed once a year and washed and cleaned.I watched an air tech. do this one time and learned to do it myself. This tube is not too dificult to remove takes at least one hour and a half . It would save quite an amount of money in the long run. JMC

To change from Cecilius to Fahrenheit on the remote control, hold both the + and the - simultaneously and this will enable you to toggle between C and F. You will need to do this each time you change your batteries.

New install. 40 seconds on. 20 seconds off.

Its normal that the air coming out is warm cause you set it to heat mode. Check your setting temperature, it is normal for the unit to shutdown when it will attain the setting temperature and operate when the temperature is lower than the setting temperature(heat mode).
