if using XP go to my computer, right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager>look down list for keyboard, click '+' sign and highlight your keyboard and right click and select uninstall. Restart the notebook and the keyboard will be installed automatically along with the drivers and should set it back to default.

I had the exact same problem and the piano is brand new! I considered the possibility of the above answer as I had plugged it in via a power cable (it was missing the 3 pin UK plug) and it was also plugged into a power strip. My dad also looked at it and couldn't see why this should cause it...but I tried the different combinations anyway...including with the proper 3 pin plug attached to the adaptor (when it arrived in the post), rather than a power cable. This was the result:
Power cable +power strip = piano froze
Power cable (straight into wall) = piano froze
Proper 3 pin plug supplied + power strip= piano froze
Proper 3 pin plug (straight into wall)= piano froze!!!!
So....in answer to your question...I'd say there's something wrong with the piano! If not, it should've worked for me on the correct combination. :I I will now be returning mine. I worry what the cause is though considering my piano is brand new....and therefore is this a fault that regularly occurs with Casio privias? I don't want to spend this much money on one if it's going to do this eventually.
