The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.
Hello Try removing the battery and the memory card for 1 minute then return them back. Make sure the battery is inserted properly. If that didn't work, try turning it on without the memory card.
Did you get any error message when you try to turn on your camera?
If the card was one that was previously used in another camera, you can't use it in this camera without formatting it. Move the pictures to a computer and format the card via the camera (remember that all data on the card will be erased). Before formatting the card however, make sure the battery has sufficient charge as this process can take some time. Also remember to never interrupt this process as it can damage the card. The format option can be found in the settings.
Note: pictures taken on one camera can't be viewed on another camera.
There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". Some include trying to use of a 4GB SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Others include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.
1. Go into the menu and find "reset"...follow the on-screen instructions.
2. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the instructions..
3. After downloading any pictures from the card, insert it into the camera and do the "format" thing again.
everything should work now. Remember, never use the computer to format or erase your card...always use the camera. Also, when removing the card from the computer, always use "safely remove hardware" icon at the bottom right of your computer screen.
You can accomplish the transfer by going into the menu and find "copy". Follow the instructions for copying from the internal memory to the memory card.
yes i m sure it would work if you use a card reader instead of using the camera directly connected..
in that case your memory card will just work as the usb hard drive and you can load anything into it..
