Get out a step ladder or whatever you have so you can unplug it for 10 seconds. This should reset it.
Be safe.

Best to you.

Its very possible the electronic eyes aren't pointing at each other. When the light flashes its a code. You count the number of flashes and look it up in your manual or online.

your door travel screw is set to go too far on the downward travel. you need to set the down travel. It is set to go too far down. find the screw adjustment on the unit that says close and back off the screw a full turn until door stops short of floor. then start turning screw other way until door just touvhes floor.

SOURCE: My garage door opener won't close the garage door.

Most likely your door sensors have been bumped and are not aligned properly. Make sure they are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is lit and not blinking.

To answer your question the opener is in vacation mode. Press and hold for 3 seconds the button on your wall control with the lock icon. The green light will stop flashing and you will be back in business.

SOURCE: Liftmaster 1/2 HP Garage Door opener won't open or Close

The shaft on these garage door motors are not direct drive systems. You'll have to open up the box to see what the actual problem is. I have had stuff like this happen where a gear just slipped out of place.

Here is a link for a parts supplier. I don't know your model but it looks like most of the Liftmaster worm screw gears and drive gears are plastic so it's possible that one of them has cracked.

Craftsman 1/2hp garage door opener works fine to open door but to close I have to hold button down. If not, door won't move and lights flash 10 times.

10 flashes mean sensors are obstructed... something is in the way of the door or they are not facing each other. Clear the obstruction or realign the door and it will work.

My chamberlain garage door will not close. I have checked it manually and it works fine. I have check the sensors and they are inline Please help

If when the door starts to close the main light flashes 10 times and the door reverses to the open position it is a door sensor problem. Make sure the small light on each sensor is lit and not flashing. Tweak them a bit. If you cannot get both lights to come on you have bad sensors.

My garage door opens fine, just wont close with remotes. Lights just flash. I have to use the opener in garage and keep the button pressed in till the door is fully closed or it will reverse.

Clean both safety sensors lens located at the bottom of the garage door frame. Make sure both sensors led lights are lit. If not they are out of alignment and you will have to loosen the wing nut on the sensor that is lit and move it, trying to get the other sensor to light.

It sounds like your door sensors may be misaligned. If when you try to close the door the main light flashes 10 times and the door reverses to the open position this is the case. Make sure the small light on each sensor is lit and not flickering. Tweak the sensors to see if you can get both lights to come on. If not you have a bad sensor.

Sears garage door opener 1/2 hp about 6 years old. Will not respond to remotes to open and close. Light flashes on opener when remote is pressed but no door action.

Door sensors are not working. Check if lights are on both sides.
Might be misaligned or one is bad.
Door will close if you hold in the garge close button until it's all the way down.
And it will open on it's own.
You can get these off ebay.

Craftsman Garage Opener intermittently not closing

A couple things to check and do. If the main light flashes 10 times when the door reverses to the open position it is a door sensor problem. Make sure they are pointed at one another and that the small light on each one is lit and not flickering. Tweak them a bit if necessary.

If the main light isn't flashing it may just be a simple adjustment. Locate the 'down force' adjustment on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Increase this about 1/4 turn and try.

For the light you should unplug the unit and then using a small screwdriver pull out on the center contact in the light socket.

Same problem, but no garage door sensors

Both the remote and the manual button once set a relay that applied power until the door had reached one or the other 'stops.' That relay, or the transistor that controls it, has failed, making it necessary to keep the relay powered by holding the button. It's probably repairable and remotes for just about any system are still quite available.
Heartland America, a catalog company, has offered a 'universal' garage door remote for some years; something that bothers the heck out of me.
