Bootable CDs are not working with my new DVD writer


Hi,

I having a problem with my acer TravelMate 230 laptop. Recently I have fixed a DVD write which is PHILIPS SDVD8441. My problem is, in my laptop bios it’s not detecting the DVD writer and when I use a bootable CD and when I select the CD-ROM to boot it’s not detecting the bootable CD. Although when I booted on to WIN XP it’s detecting the DVD writer and I can use it with WIN XP without any problem. My BIOS version is A01-A0R. I assume that my laptop BIOS is old or cannot detect this DVD writer. Do I have to upgrade my BIOS or please check on this and give me a suitable solution.

Hi, i have a program that requires driver support for direct x 9
The problem is your on board video on your laptop only supports directX 8 then DirectX 9 will not install or run on yor laptop. The directX software from microsoft will detect if you computer can run it or not. And being it is a laptop you cannot update the onboard video to support directX 9 or higher.

Can I have more detail like the model of your laptop. I really wanted to check that it is a DVD writer or not.Second it can be that that it doesn't support the type of DVD+R or DVD-R you're trying to use.But first check out that your model support writting to DVD or not.

Hello i hv a acer travelmate c110tci and i hv a problem with it!
Your Acerf C110TCI will not succesfully run Vista. It does not meat the minimum requierments. It may load, but you won't like it. Stay with XP and SP3, it will be much better.
