Your stitch selector knob is still set on the 3rd leg of the buttonhole. Turn your knob left further and it should go down to a straight stitch or zigzag.
If it doesn't, put a drop of machine oil in all the places that your instruction book tells you to, and after running it for a minute or so, try it again. It should eventually release and start sewing forward. If it doesn't, you will need to see a mechanic.
Good Luck

Viking 6370 won,t sew foward

This could be caused by a couple things. First. Are all of the knobs turning freely? If not it most likely is caused by the buttonhole mechanism being out of sync. That will make the machine not function properly. Second. If the knobs are free it could be the reverse mechanism has seized up and need to be lubed.

Why does it say (overload) on the screen

I'M NOT FAMILIAR WITH THIS KENMORE BUT I WOULD CHECK THE BELT TO SEE IF IT IS STUCK, NOT ALIGNED OR TOO TIGHT. IF IT IS TOO TIGHT THE MOTOR WILL ALWAYS BE OVERLOADED.

How to repair the reverse on my Kenmore Sewing Machine.

Many sewing machines have plastic parts. My guess is if you take the cover off you will find some random chunks of plastic fall out. if you do save them and when you get to the revers switch remove it carefully and make carful not of any springs or cogs it may come in contact with clean the area and look at the pieces (if you have them) and see if you can find damaged parts. The next step is to take a picture with your phone and go to the local sewing machine repair store and try to by the parts. You may have to settle for used but in my case the used parts I found were better then the original. If the parts are easy to remove take the parts with you so you can match them up, When you put them pack together you will probably need some kind of grease you can get white lithium grease from the auto parts store, I buy the can, but thats enough grease to last a life time.
Best of luck

Juki will not go in revers when finger button is pushed. Replaced switch already. still will not go in revers

http://www.singernj.com/shop/Juki-DDL-8300.html
If this is the machine you have, that BIG horizontal lever on the right is the reverse lever. You must have some sort of electronic reverse mechanism that is externally mounted. You need to post info on that mechanism.
