I received a Westinghouse tv. Right out of the box it will not work. Any suggestions Greg Arburua

I believe that dish has it's own type of remotes and the remote that you purchased is specifically compatible with your tv and not necessarily the Dish box. This would explain the difference in the code lengths. So, you would need to call dish and ask them what remote's are compatible with Dish. Thank you.

if you are using an antenna for digital channels,it will search for 100 to 125 channels,if searching for the old analog channels,it only searches for 75 channels,but,you will not receive them,they are gone now,if you have a cable box,then you only need channel 3 or 4,

Make sure you have the TV tuned to the proper source.

My TV has multiple input sources ranging from the cable box to various AV and gaming equipment and I must select the right input source in order for the TV to receive a signal.

On my controller, there is a button at the top for selecting the input source. I can cycle through all sources by pressing that button. If you're using a programmable universal controller, that function may not be programmed into the universal controller so you may need to use the original controller that came with the TV.

If, after you've cycled through all of your available sources and still get no signal, check and see if a wire has come loose between your cable box and TV, either at the cable box end or the TV end.

You haven't stated the type of signals that comes with your co-axial cable; analogue or digital. Anyway, you have to retune the TV after connecting it properly with Cox-Cable receiver with TV.

Why don't you simply run the cable box and DVD stereo outputs direct to the receiver. Thats what most people do. TVs do not passthrough stereo signal very well do to DHCP compliance requirements .

Hi Greg,
Again, if you have a high definition dish box with HDMI output,and a dvd player with HDMI output,please connect them both directly to your TV HDMI inputs.
When watching TV(dishnetwork box).remember to switch the HDMI video inputs.
Same as your DVD player,you need to switch it under your TV video input.
