Can only receive cable channels 2 through 13;

first, make sure the TV in in American Cable mode (ntsc). next do this, menu... tuner... cable... scan... the reason maybe the TV is on TV air mode; but now is receiving cable. from the antenna coax cable. . another reason is that many cableco's now use Switched Digital Video ( a more robust setup) that now requires the Digital Tuning Adapter... also to help prevent free-loading. a last possibility is your (old) TV does Not work on the new cable. A new TV usually cures this ...!

You have a faulty backlight which may be due to bad capacitors or a faulty inverter. This should be repairable by a TV repair shop.

Audiovox VE1020 is not a digital set. To see digital broadcast you will need another digital reciever or a long lead to connect to your existing one.
This set does not have very good reviews either.

it's possible while they were fussing that the yellow video cable got jerked or pulled. try a new video rca cable.

somewhere in the tv's menu (or a button on the tv or remote) there should be a way to change the tuner setting from antenna to cable. you may have to make the tv run through autotune. a switch or button may be on the back of the set, close to the
cable connector.

Check the screen position switch, they sometimes get fouled especially if installed in a kitchen.
