SOURCE: Where can I download a copy of a Schwinn 220P
Hi,
After some research, I have not been able to find a manual that can be downloaded. This is probably due to the fact that it is relatively large in size. Some manufacturers simply dop not digitize their larger manuals. You may be able to find someone who has done the work for you - but that may take some time. If you wish to buy it, here is one place: http://www.fitnessrepairparts.com/cart/ViewItem/13000747
As you may already know (which is probably why you are here), Schwinn does not have it in their download section for stationary bikes, which is here:
http://www.schwinnfitness.com/schwinn-fitness/customerservice/manuals.jsp?lid=Owners+Manuals+-+Manuals
but you may wish to try model numbers close to the 220p and the information may basically be the same.
Please be advised, this is free-of-charge information and opinion I am providing you. Please do not give me a low rating for simply trying to help. I may not have given you an answer you like, but it is an honest one, and one based on research. Thank you.

To solve this please follow these steps: Step 1: Check to see if power cables are plugged in. Verify9-12 VDC power is available at the connector on the computer. If 9-12 VDC poweris present at the connector and the computer doesn't come on, replace thecomputer. Step 2: Enter Electrical test mode: 1. To enter electrical test mode, press the (RESET) key. Within2 seconds of pressing the (RESET) key, press (RESET) and (ENTER/START) keyssimultaneously. 2. The computer should display all segments on continuously. If the computer doesn't go into this mode, repeat - "No.1" 3. Press the (ENTER) key. The display will flash all LED's. 4. Press the (ENTER) key again. The display will show "SPU"in the middle display. Rotate the pedal and the "SPU" will go out momentarilyas the speed sensor is actuated. 5. Press the (ENTER) key. A "P" will be shown in thebottom display. If a pulse signal source is present the "HEART RATE" LED willflash with the pulses and the "P" will be replaced with a pulse rate number. 6. Press the (ENTER) and then the (RESET) key to exit. If all segments are not on, replace computer. Step 3: Recalibrate the magnetic resistance upper andlower limits. For that you need to do: 1. Remove pedals and shrouds. 2. Plug bike in and allow magnets to move away fromflywheel to least resistance then unplug. 3. Adjust cam on right side of flywheel so that there is approximately4mm gap between the pin and the end of the groove. To move the cam, you willhave to give the butterfly on the motor shaft a spin with your left hand whileturning the cam with your right hand. 4. Using a Phillips screwdriver loosen and lower the Lplate on the left side of the magnets until it gently depresses the lower limitswitch. 5. Secure the L plate and temporarily install pedals.Plug bike in and increase the resistance to maximum. At maximum resistancecheck the gap between the magnets and the flywheel. The gap should beapproximately 1.5 to 2mm. If the gap is incorrect, unplug the bike and move thesmaller L plate closer or further away from the upper limit switch 2 mm at atime until the proper gap is achieved. 6. Plug bike in and check for proper function. If the motor will not move to the minimum resistance, measurethe voltage across the motor. If the voltage is around 6 volts DC, the motor isjammed or bad. Replace the motor. If thevoltage is 0 volts, check the continuity of the wires and the wire connections. If wires are ok, replace the control board. If the above procedures do not fixthe problem, replace the computer. Please follow these steps, hope this will help you. GoodLuck.

see this steps and fix it. God bless you Check your owner's manual for diagrams and definitions. You'll need this information when you put the elliptical back together. You'll also want definitions in case you need to call the customer support line for assistance. Be aware that the resistance is often the part that requires repair. Resistance is managed magnetically, so often if the machine is working, but the resistance isn't setting correctly or at all, check the bolts that secure the magnets. If they are loose, the resistance will slip. If the bolts are fine, check the magnets themselves by using a refrigerator magnet and see if it is attracted or repelled by the your fridge magnet. If not, the magnets have de-magnetized and need to be replaced. Consider that if the foot pedals are attached with bolts, any slipping can be fixed with a quick use of the wrench. But if the foot pedals are damaged or breaking, order new foot pedals (see Resources below) rather than run the risk of a pedal breaking while you're on the machine. Check the hand bars. While not all people use them, as they can elevate your heart rate by up to 20 percent, they can become worn, too. While loose hand bars typically need a simple tightening of the bolt, be sure not to overtighten as the bolts can break. Know that if the axis is bent, it's likely you need a new machine. The axis is the central alignment of the elliptical. If the machine was used by a person who is over the maximum weight limit, it can be bent or damaged. It's not an easy fix and a better idea is to upgrade to a sturdier machine.
