I'm assuming it's a Gen 3 watch.
These are renowned for this issue, the heat from the charging process softens the glue to such an extent the back detaches.
But the watch is still in warranty, so contact Fossil for a no-charge repair.

Go
to "fossil.com", go to the bottom of the page and you will see a menu,
click on "customer care", and then look under "Product Info" on the
left and you will see "watch instructions"
Click on this and a
list of diagrams and watch descriptions will appear,Download the file
that is suitable for your watch.
The instructions on how to set the re-set should be included.
1. Pull out the time set mode button. 2. Press the upper right button repeatedly until the sweep hand makes it back to 00/60. 3. Press the time set button back into normal position.
It sounds like the reset button on the inside was not pushed. There is a small reset button on the inside. Bring it back to a Fossil Store so that they can open the back and take it off. When you bring the watch back, tell the associate that you would like them to try resetting the watch from the inside.
