Monitor has vertical lines, looks like a graph
It may not be getting a signal,; the bars could be a test pattern.

This is a horizontal sync circuit gone.
In English, probably cheaper to replace than repair.
Wouldn't hurt to get a quote if it is free.

Try reinstalling all over, format your notebook and freshly install again your OS and drivers. It sometimes happen when we tweak some drivers it saved into the registry, it can be happen that settings is still there in the registry even you uninstall the driver, cause it's still the same driver although it has a different version. Sounds intriguing...? BUt its true, coz' you just only update the firmware but with the same driver.

SOURCE: there are two vertical lines
Go to the buttons on the bottom of your monitor it will give you an option to change the vertical and horizontal setting.
SOURCE: vertical lines in middle screen
The screen has a broken circuit in it somewhere, which is what will cause thes lines. You could take to a repair shop, and have them fix it, or call the manufacturer and tell them it is defective, and they will send you a new one for FREE!!!!
