Just bought a used DE675 for my garage (2 front channels only). The speakers emit a loud hum or buzz, and I need to turn the volume up past 35 to hear any music. Also, the reception is very poor compared to the JVC I just replaced. I've tried all the troubleshooting tips in the owner's manual I printed online, but nothing helps the buzz. Also, I tried the center channel and the rear surround channels, but the same buzz is everywhere. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Pete

I have a Boston Acoustics VR-500 Subwoofer with a problem. As soon as anything is plugged into the line level RCA jacks, the subwoofer produces a loud buzz/hum. I have tried connecting it to the subwoofer...

I'm thinking you have an open shield ground on the RCA input side. Connecting speaker inputs possibly restores the ground. Try connecting the high level inputs then disconnect the remote end of the cables (floating the grounds).

Then get out an ohmmeter and find that open circuitor or bad solder joint between RCA ground and real ground in the speaker's amplifier. Or.... if speaker ground kills the hum and you want to use RCA Line Level input to the sub, just connect one minus speaker output on your source amp to one minus on the sub's amp.

Got a humming/ buzzing sound from speakers. When muted no buzzing but when turned down to zero, buzzing. Can't shut off speakers. What to do?

LOL. This is a common, easily solveable problem. Remove your cellphone or anything that emits radiation of any sort from the general area. Don't believe me? send a text message while sitting net to your speakers. It does this even if you arent sending a message because your phone sends intermittent signals to the cell tower. the radiation being emitted from the phone does weird things with the magnets inside the speakers.

Sub woofer buzzes all the time, do I have to replace the speaker or can this be repaired?

ur sub wont buzz due to bad speaker. either u have a faulty preamp or power amp. yes it can be repaired and will not cost much. if it is loud and annoying, get it repaired. sometimes subs emit low hum when powered up. this is the way the are desinged.

Speakers buzz with no sound

Is this only with CD, only with THAT CD, or with nothing in particular selected or playing?

Check all connections for tightness as bad cable shield connections will let emitted noise into the system. Ditto for signal or speaker cables routed near power cables, TV's, other electrical sources.

Sometimews reversing the AC power cord polarity can resolve buzz/hum.

LOUD BUZZING/HUMMING SOUND- CAN HEAR OVER AUDIO

have someone check speaker ground to the TV chassis. Your speakers are picking up reverb from the Video Signal.

Only one speaker working on my str-de675 receiver

If the speakers themselves work fine, then the problem lies within the amplifier output. The channels can go bad after hard use, they can be repaired but it may well exceed the cost of the amp if it is not just one channel. Also be sure that you are hooking up speakers that are rated for your amplifier by matching the OHM resistance of the amplifier to compatible speakers.

Constant humming/buzzing noise

I purchased a poloroid tv 3732 in may of 2005 from circuit city, after about 14 months the set began making a clacking sound and humming sound that gets so loud it is unbareable. I have to turn the set off. I have found out I am not the only one with this problem that has a poloroid tv. I had a technician at my home that told me there is a service warranty on these sets because the wrong part was used and the part needs to be replaced.
