Drum is making a loud banging noise during spin, it is brand new

Some banging or knocking during the ramp up to spin speed in this washer is normal. It is difficult to determine whether your washer has a problem or not based on your description. This banging lasts for varying amounts of time until the load is balanced and the washer ramps up to the full spin speed. If the load can not be balanced on the first attempt, the washer will ramp down and then tumble and attempt again to ramp up to speed. This may be the same thing that you are hearing when your washer ramps up to spin speed. Since the washer does spin at the full speed, there is not likely a problem with the washer. The components are designed to withstand repeated vibration and reasonable banging or knocking. The washer will vibrate to some extent at high speed. If you feel that the vibration is excessive, I recommend that you check the stability of the leveling feet. Press down on the diagonally opposing corners of the washer to check for play. If the washer rocks at all when conducting this test, I recommend that you adjust the leveling feet to eliminate this play even is the washer is not perfectly level after making this adjustment. This may help reduce the banging and vibration. Other than that if it is brand new call the people who you purchased it from so you don't void any warranties by taking it apart.

Screen reads UE? what is UE?

UE stands for Unbalance Error. If the washer has tried to spin numerous times, tried to redistribute the load itself between each attempt, and still not been able to get the load up to full speed without experiencing an off balance condition, it will finally stop and display the UE code. This is most often the case when a heavy / bulky item(s) are being washed and the spin speed is set very high. When washing these items, set the spin speed to low. The machine will most likely be able to handle that. If you want them spun out faster, then AFTER the washer has made it through the cycle on low speed spin do this: Turn the power back on. Without selecting any cycle, just press the spin speed button, selecting the next higher spin speed. Now press start, and your washer will just do a 14 minute or so pump and spin.
For super wet heavy loads, if you cannot even get the washer to go through a cycle on the lowest spin speed, you may have to wring a bunch of the water out of the clothes by hand before doing the 14 minute cycle thing.

Brand new. Load gets stuck on 14 minutes or some other time & repeats over & over. Wont finish cycle. We have to use the drain & spin to get the water out but then clothes are not rinsed well....

Sounds like you are probably doing a very bulky or real off balance load on a high spin speed setting. The washer is trying to get the load up to spin speed, but the load is too off balanced. Try the lowest spin speed setting for that load. If it makes it through that, then power machine back on and just push the spin speed button until the next higher speed shows up, and then the start button if you want to spin it out better. If it still didn't make it through the original cycle on the lowest spin speed, your load must be way too off balanced, like one coat that is saturated with water. If that is the case, you may even have to squeeze some water out of it by hand before you would be able to get the washer to get it up to spin speed.

My TROMM washer only spins on extra high speed

This washer will automatically choose the fast spin, you can do only spin, don't make the first selection "soil level", just press the spin speed then start.

Is the problem that it is noisy and shaking?

try to level the feet. The installers should have given you a wrench to accomplish that.

After a wash cycle, the letters UE appeared in the timer window..

UE = Unbalance error.
try to use a low spin speed with loads like rugs, and try to get as even a load as possible. (ie: not just one rug) Don't wash rubber backed rugs, as the backing can break up and clog your machine.

Now, if you are successful washing with the lowest spin speed, you can hold the " Spin Speed " button in while pressing on the power button. Release power button. Now release the spin speed button. Now, press the spin speed button until the next higher spin speed from your last successful spin. Press start. Your washer should now pump out and attempt to reach the new spin speed, without adding any water. (usually about a 14 minute pump and spin cycle) Don't expect to be able to spin out rugs at a high spin speed.
