Hi, My tv looses its image and becomes only dark with bars when I'm watching something... If I close and open again, it's gone but it always comes back after a little while. T-Con Board Issue?

- the TV is 5 yo - Model LG 60pn6500 - Plasma - Once the bars are there, I can't do anything.

SOURCE: 42 inch LG Plasma TV - Lost picture

Our LG 50" plasma tv screen went black after a popping noise but still had sound, after great diliberations decided to take the back off and have a peek!
We unplugged the tv and tested the fuses (there were three we could see) one had blown, the one on the left as you look at the back of the tv it also has one above it. We wrote the code/seriel number down and took the fuse to the electrical wholesalers Maplin and bought a pack of 10 fuses for £1.29 replaced the fuse in the tv and everything now fine!!!!!!
Hope this might be of use to anyone whose lost the picture after a loud popping/snacking noise but still has sound.

SOURCE: plasma tv has no picture but green led is on

Try unplugging the TV for a few minutes (discharges the ballast/ps) then plug in and attempt to power on. I have the 42P Vizio over two years old and ran into the same problem a few times. First thought was a power supply issue, but the unplugging trick worked. Good luck.

Sometimes pictures are dark even in auto mode, err message is always coming, dark image in the view finder.

Hi dear pmorala
1) check
the lens if to drive the diaphragm actuating lever that opens.
2) also check the aperture lever on the camera body may be broken or bent.
3) look at the Shutter release the mirror and shoot the camera in a low speed (M mode) note if this works correctly or some of the leaves that make up the curtain is loose or out of place.

Everything seems fine ... OK command dial to select the full aperture, shoots the camera at you and see the diaphragm (set M mode and speed sh bellow 1 / 8). Full closed? = Aperture Mechanism defective.

Compaq presario cq61 screen went dark but can still see window faintly through the dark sreen.

Look at the LCD screen very closely and check if you can see a faint image on the screen. It's possible that the LCD lid close switch stuck in the "closed" position and the back-light stays off even when you open the LCD screen or turn on the laptop. The switch turns off the back-light when you close the LCD display to save the laptop battery power.

If no luck, try to remove battery and drain the power, then replace battery and turn on.

If that didn't fix it then there are 3 things that could have gone wrong:

1. Video cable connection from inverter to LCD got loose. To check this, follow instructions from step 3 on how to open the LCD and check if cable is fitted properly.

2. The video inverter is faulty
The screen inverter failure is very similar to the back-light lamp failure. In both cases the screen gets very dark and the image on the screen becomes very faint, barely visible under a bright light. If it's still under warranty, take it for a replacement. You can replace this otherwise - you can find the inverter under the screen, follow the procedure described at point 3 to open up the screen.

3. The LCD monitor is faulty
If it works on an external monitor most likely the LCD is faulty and needs replacement. If it's still under warranty, take it for a replacement. If not, you can do it yourself, it's pretty easy. Remove the rubber covers on the side of the screen, unscrew the screws take the plastic cover off, disconnect the video inverter and put in the new LCD after you connect the video inverter to it.

Approximately 2/3 of the screen is dark. this started about six months ago and is progressively becoming worse. when problem began the screen would recover to full brightness after it was on for 30...

Hi there...it is sounding like a backlight is going/has gone out...these can be proffesionally replacedat a repair shop...To self diagnose if it is the backlight take a flashlight and, with tv on and while on a tv channel and carefully form different angles look into the 'dark' part of the tv screen...if the/a backlight on a lcd tv/monitor goes out(even laptop screens) then u can still see a faint image with a flashlight(or without one with a good eye)....If you still see the (tv channel) image, then it is most likely a bad backlight......
I hope this helped you some, if it did(or not) please rate!...Thank you

When playing DVD, image sometimes dark incl. closed caption

1> sometimes supply of low voltage causes some disturbance in trasmitting video signals,it results in darker images while watching.

2> The DVD may have some scratchs or dust-spots or rough-coat on its recording surface ( reflecting LASER beam ) clean DVD and operate again.

3> your DVD player's SMPS (switched mode power supply ) circuitary fails to perform its function properly and giving irregular supply to video-audio card of the DVD player because of having some failure of electronics component housed on this circuitory.

4> switch the mode among 'PAL' , 'NTSC' , 'AUTO' and OTHER in playback mode options ,one by one taking  some minutes.

Now , your problem is solved , Enjoy,Bi.

Hi,

There are a number reasons why this might happen:
  • The backlight has gone (Find a dark place and shine a torch into the screen and see if you can see an image in the background, if you see an image then the backlight has gone) - Needs a new backlight (Engineer to remove and fit) or have a new panel fitted.
  • The panel has died - Need a new panel
  • A cable has worked itself loose or is broken
  • The inverter has gone - Need new inverter
  • The driver board is faulty

Acer one AOA 150 Power light comes on and thats its no lights

Hi,

There are approx 6 reasons why this might happen:

  1. The backlight has gone (Find a dark place and shine a torch into the screen and see if you can see an image in the background, if you see an image then the backlight has gone) - Needs a new backlight (Engineer to remove and fit) or have a new panel fitted.
  2. The panel has died - Need a new panel
  3. A cable has worked itself loose or is broken
  4. The inverter has gone - Need new inverter
  5. Long shot, the bios has got corrupted - Engineer could re-flash the bios
  6. Long shot, Mainboard onboard graphics has gone - Need new mainboard
My personal opinion is that the backlight or inverter has gone - Either way it needs to be opened up to repair it, consult a service centre and get a quote or repair it yourself if your up for it.

Thanks
