Cleaning is the best way to put all things back to its normal used.
1. Check the disk and clean it up with a smooth and dry tissue.
2. Avoid cleaning of the optical lens with an ordinary cloth coz it will damage the lens, instead buy an optical lens cleaner to the nearer shop in your place. Read some instructions how to use the lens cleaner. Thanks

And this is on every disk? Have you tried cleaning the lens?
Is it a drawer-type player? If so, let the drawer slide out and use an eyeglass cleaner on the tiny lens on the bottom of the drawer.
I had luck by cleaning some of the CDs that wouldn't be read by cleaning the CD with a little dish soap and water, drying is softly.

SOURCE: CD Player Not Working

You could take the unit apart and clean the lens with some rubbing alcohol. Or thy running a lens cleaner through it. But most likely the problem is a bad lens assembly and if this was not an expensive unit it is time to replace. But only disassemble if you know what you are doing.

SOURCE: CD player won't play disk and says "no disk"

The problem of "'no discs'"displayed is in the mechanism in the roller thats moving back and port bringing the lense set .The old grease thier is already hardened that cause the problem.Clean that by using a lighter fluid or like that fluid to take the old grease, and put it with a new one first class grease type-A grease put only a little grease and wipe the lense with a cotton buds without any chemicals on it .Try this solution so performance will be better.

SOURCE: Samsung DVD writer suddenly not working.

Hi there..

I can understand the issue.

There are 2 ways to fix this up..

FIRST STEP :

Check whether the drive is listed in My Computer or not.
If its not detected then reboot the computer and get into BIOS.
Check whether CD driver is detected in BIOS.
If its not then i'd say please try to swap the cable between HDD & CD drive and restart the computer.
Check whether the computer is booting or not.
If not we can come to the conclusion that the drive is gone bad.

SECOND STEP:

Check whether the drive is listed in My Computer or not.
If the drive is listed in My Computer and still not working.
Then i'd say please go to SERVICES.MSC
Locate for the option IMAPI CD-BURNING service and right click on the option.
Go to properties and start the process and make the startup as Automatic. I've given the screenshot here.. Kindly go through it..

bd4d597.jpg

59c6f91.jpg

Click on start and now you reboot the computer and now check in My Computer whether you see CD Drive.

OR

The next step which we are going to follow up is very important.

Start->Run->regedit

Locate for the upper filter & Lower filter. Here is the location for finding the upper and lower filter..
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

After you click on the 4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318 option take a look on the right side you can find upper & lower filter.

Delete it & Restart the computer and now you are offset..

CAUTION: Use Registry Editor at your own risk. Any change using Registry Editor may cause severe and irreparable damage and may require you to reinstall your operating system. Internet Security Systems cannot guarantee that problems caused by the use of Registry Editor can be solved.

Cd error on my shaker 500 in my mustang do I need a new stereo or can I fix this. Thanks Dean

Hi Dean,
Although it isn't generally public knownage, the original "standard format" for recorded audio was established as ".wav" and is universally readable by vertually all cd players portable, auto and home systems, unless it is "designed" as an "MP3" player specifically and is usually noted somewhere on the unit. If you burn your own disks, although the file sizes are bigger (almost 2-3 times the bit size), they will be readable in alot more players. Recording in "MP3" format, you can get lots more songs on a disk however, you may notice the difference between the "sound" of the two different formats on the same song, it has to do with the "sample rate" and the "interpretation" of the sound by the format. (long explanation not important but, if you're interested you can find tons of information about audio anywhere on the web)
Many audio units read "both" as well as other audio formats that are "computer" or "digitally" created and are actually computer "languages" with different applications like ".WMA" which is "windows media audio", so, depending on the format of the disk you tried playing when you got the error code, it may be that simple, your unit cannot "read" the format the disk was created with and is telling you "cd error". The same thing would come up if you put a dvd or a computer cd in it.
If you only had trouble with that one particular cd, try a commercially produced cd or one you know worked before and so long as it plays you have your answer.
If other disks including commercial cd's won't play, you may have to use a "cd player cleaner", a disk designed to clean the optical laser inside the unit, they usually have tiny brushes on the disk and may or may not come with a cleaning fluid to use with it.
Hope this helps :)

My 5 Disk CD player doesn't work. It wont read any kind of CD. The radio and Tape Decks still work though. How can I fix the CD player.

Hello Alison hi, we need to check two parts to see which is the problem section why your player wont read.

  1. Does your CD spins normally, check your player if the cd spins normally, if you can see the disk spinning, take note of the spin, is it to slow? An abnormal disk spin has problems with its spindle motor assembly.
  2. Does your CD spins and then slow down to a stops, did not read the disk. This is caused by two things, FIRST: your CD player lens needs cleaning, you can buy a CD lens cleaner and use it to clean the lens, SECOND: The lens has degraded or worn out due to use and time, this needs a replacement lens assembly.
This things are way beyond a normal user, I suggest you send it for service. Sorry, there are no user serviceable parts here.

If your CD-writer previously work, and now does not work, i.e., cannot "read" a "blank" disk, it's time to spend $40 to buy a brand-new CD/DVD reader/writer drive.

Teac lp- u200 cd player doesn't work

Sicne this is a new system, don't waste time on it. Return it for an exchange. The CD portion is not working. The reading message indicates that the unit detects a disc, but can not read it. This is usually a problem with the optical assembly or the processing board. Neither should be a problem at this time. Replace it under warranty.

CDs means totally nothing. sorry....
what CD? , a CD-R? CD-RW, or a store bought CDDA disk
all 3 are different. (or DVD? of vast types too...)
my guess you meant CD-R. (CD record-able)
TouchSmart IQ770 PC Desktop? 2007 carbon date?

what OS, XP, VISTA or W7?

My guess its bad media or bad CD drive.
only way to prove that is use new CD-R burned on good system slow.
say using the great free utility called, imgburn.

first try a real disk, from a store, from the Music section
called CD-DA disk, play it , if it plays the CD drive might be ok.
then try what I call rubber disks, recordable. CD-R
using pro grade disk burned correctly.
buying the cheapest media can be a nightmare. here.

tell HP your OS
the as an example (i guessed OS, means operating system)
install this up date, called HP HP Personal and Pocket Media Drive Driver Update

here.
