Cleaning is the best way to put all things back to its normal used.
1. Check the disk and clean it up with a smooth and dry tissue.
2. Avoid cleaning of the optical lens with an ordinary cloth coz it will damage the lens, instead buy an optical lens cleaner to the nearer shop in your place. Read some instructions how to use the lens cleaner. Thanks

And this is on every disk? Have you tried cleaning the lens?
Is it a drawer-type player? If so, let the drawer slide out and use an eyeglass cleaner on the tiny lens on the bottom of the drawer.
I had luck by cleaning some of the CDs that wouldn't be read by cleaning the CD with a little dish soap and water, drying is softly.

SOURCE: CD Player Not Working
You could take the unit apart and clean the lens with some rubbing alcohol. Or thy running a lens cleaner through it. But most likely the problem is a bad lens assembly and if this was not an expensive unit it is time to replace. But only disassemble if you know what you are doing.
SOURCE: CD player won't play disk and says "no disk"
The problem of "'no discs'"displayed is in the mechanism in the roller thats moving back and port bringing the lense set .The old grease thier is already hardened that cause the problem.Clean that by using a lighter fluid or like that fluid to take the old grease,and put it with a new one first class grease type-A grease put only a little grease and wipe the lense with a cotton buds without any chemicals on it .Try this solution so performance will be better.

Hi there..
I can understand the issue.
There are 2 ways to fix this up..
FIRST STEP :
Check whether the drive is listed in My Computer or not.
If its not detected then reboot the computer and get into BIOS.
Check whether CD driver is detected in BIOS.
If its not then i'd say please try to swap the cable between HDD & CD drive and restart the computer.
Check whether the computer is booting or not.
If not we can come to the conclusion that the drive is gone bad.
SECOND STEP:
Check whether the drive is listed in My Computer or not.
If the drive is listed in My Computer and still not working.
Then i'd say please go to SERVICES.MSC
Locate for the option IMAPI CD-BURNING service and right click on the option.
Go to properties and start the process and make the startup as Automatic. I've given the screenshot here.. Kindly go through it..
Click on start and now you reboot the computer and now check in My Computer whether you see CD Drive.
OR
The next step which we are going to follow up is very important.
Start->Run->regedit
Locate for the upper filter & Lower filter. Here is the location for finding the upper and lower filter..
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
After you click on the 4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318 option take a look on the right side you can find upper & lower filter.
Delete it & Restart the computer and now you are offset..
