SOURCE: Washer won't start cycle after door is closed
Try taking the top of the machine off and checking all of the electrical connections, including the one to the door lock. I have to do this about once a month with my machine and it seems to work.

When start button is pushed there is a buzzing noise but dryer will not start.

Solution #1 makes no sense as a dryer does not have a water pump!
But the exact same problem happened to my same model dryer. Pull out from wall. Remove lint
filter. Take out two screws holding top to lint filter casing. Pry up
top at the front (pops out of two plastic retaining dowels and is
hinged on the back so you can tip the top up). Remove front panel by
taking out two screw-bolts at top of backside of front panel and lift
up -- careful to support drum as you do, as the front part of the drum
is supported by the flange built into the front panel. Check:
1) Is belt broken (the incredibly skinny belt that runs around the
middle of the drum, not the rubber track at the back of the drum). If
belt is broke, replace. New belt at internet parts stores is about $10
bucks.
2) If belt is not broke, get down on belly with flashlight and find the
spring-loaded wheel that keeps the belt snug against the motor pulley
-- push on the spring-loaded wheel and slip the belt off.
Now try to spin the motor pulley by hand. If it turns freely in both
directions, it is probably good and the problem might be in the start
switch (don't know how to test that).
If the motor pulley does NOT turn -- or is very hard to turn and binds
-- the motor is dead. Probably the bearings burnt out (that's what
happened to mine after only 4 years of light use). You have to remove
the back panel to replace the motor, but it's a simple job if you know
what a screwdriver and socket ratchet are for. New motor at internet
parts stores is about $80 bucks.

Hi,
Check your door switch...
There can be many reasons why your dryer will not start or turn...
The most common causes are the belt breaking or jumping off, or the motor going bad...
Here are a couple of tips that I wrote will help you to figure out why your dryer will not run...
Dryer Repair - The Dryer is not Turning
Dryer Repair - The dryer will not start

same problem, wash light would flash, just like if the door was open during the wash cycle....took door apart and suspected the door switch was bad, fiddled with the wires that go to the door switch and the washer worked after that. so i had the door disassembled and used my hand to close the door latch switch then wiggled the white and black wires that go into the bottom of the switch, that is when it started to work.
wiggled with the wires for a while more while the washer was working to make it stop and start, until i found a good spot where it stayed working. been a few days and it is still working. need a new door switch if'/when it quits next time.
the door switch keeps the washer from running with the door open, it tells you the door is open by flashing the "wash" light when you try to start it. cheesy switch, my washer is only a few years old. i tried all the other things suggested, power on and off and hold down different combo's of buttons while standing on your head with your right eye closed, none of that worked so out came the screw driver.
figured if it was coming out to go to the dump i could not hurt it much more than it was at that time.
anyhow door switch was the problem, i hope this helps more people out there, i was close to throwing it out after not finding much for helpful advice online.
