SOURCE: toshiba regza lcd 46x3500

This is what is known as a dead pixel. If you have a standard wide screen lcd monitor it has over 1 million pixels. It is not super un-common for one to go bad. It will either always be dark or in your case always be lit. It is not worth it to repair, and in most cases unless you have multiple dead pixels with in a square inch of screen, it is not covered under warranty either.
Each pixel is individual and the problem will most likely not spread.

SOURCE: white dots on tv screen

The white dots that come and go could be what is called ignition noise. Caused by something in your residence or on the power line to your living area. You will have to do some tracking. Take a portable radio and tune it to the 550mhz, you will hear a crackle or buzz, tune to the loudest that the buzz/crackle can be heard. Walk around to see were the noise gets to be the loudest. If it gets weaker you are moving away from the source. The source could be a dimmer switch for lighting, or a loose connection on a receptcle, or in the panel box that supplies the residence. Worst case it could be entering from outside source. I have tracked ignition noise as far as two houses away that had a bad butter control on a refrigerator that was on the same power line that supplied the neighbor hood. There are so many things this day and age that could be causing your dots. Yours come and go, so you will have to track it when it is acually seen on your tv. Sounds like something on a timer like refrigerator, Furnace, etc.

SOURCE: picture is only black screen with white lines

I have a similar issue from time to time. It is merely a bad connection from the cartridge to the system. Some dust or dirt particles are causing this. Give it a good cleaning and you should be good to go.

I have a 2005, 42" toshiba LCD model 42DPC85 that when we turn it on everything is good except the whole screen is black but imediatly the colors dot by dot start making the black disappear, it only took...

You need a new DLP chip. The chip has little mirrors that are black on one side and white on the other side. When the chip wears out , your screen will turn white one dot at a time or black one dot at a time or they may just all stick shut at once. Since your screen is black, all your mirrors are closed. You can buy the chip from shopjimmy.com and they have a video of how to replace the chip so you can do it yourself. It takes about 1 1/2 hours. The chip is about $160. To have this service done for you is about $200. Do it yourself and save the money. Your tv will be just like new again. Just make sure the chip is in perfectly level or when you turn your tv back on, your picture will be slanted. you won't notice it on the picture itself but words on the screen or scrolling messages and the menu will be slanted.

What does light engine cost and how do I replace it?

If you have the white dots issue, you can replace just the DLP chip. I did it, took about 45 minutes after watching a youtube video. Here's the one I bought. Been about a year and no new problems. http://www.shopjimmy.com/mitsubishi-276p595010-dlp-chip-dmd-ic-new-original.htm $189.

How to fix my 65" toshiba white pixel problem

Thats caused by the DLP chip. Unfortunately most Toshiba models will end up having to have both the DLP chip and the formatter board replaced at the same time to fix the issue where as other models only require replacing the DLP chip alone to fix the white dots issue

I have whit dots all over my tv how do you fix this problem

If the model number (Toshiba 65HM167) is correct the dots are a damaged Optical light engine.

These early units were DLP but had a 1/4 of a million micro mirrors in the optical unit--if they do not open and close correctly you get dots---seen some with 15 or more dots.

How to install toshiba dlp light chip

This is a part of folk lore, the DLP display "chip" is not available from the company who made this (or for that matter any other brand) and even if it was you would need the $1,000 plus desoldering station to attempt its replacement.

What is your problem? dots? if that is it the answer is either buy a optical light engine or buy a new set.

I have DLP 65 HM 167 I just changed the lamp Y67, I still have pin holes in ther picture what could be causing this

If these are little dots/pixels that are one color or black, I believe it is the optical block that is the problem. Unfortunately, the cost of it is the most expensive part in the set. With the cost of parts and labor I estimate it costing around $800.00 to $1200.00 to repair. With the cost of LCD units coming down in price, It hard to invest that much money into it.
I hope this helps,
