Looking for a prehistoric Philips part. Old Philips Computer Model P3103: I require a replacement P3103 motherboard, Philips part no. 5107 200 27001.

This thing is old. Just buy a new computer for cheap. If you upgrade the motherboard and CPU you will have to upgrade the HDD, the memory any video card you have and possibly the CD/DVD player. New motherboard will require newer of all the components I listed. So essentially buy a new computer it will be cheaper.

The CMOS battery will be in one of two places....

Start out by looking around where the keyboard connector is.

First- Most common is a "button" battery mounted on the motherboard. Most common is a CR2025- a little smaller than a quarter. It will be held in by a spring clip that either uses very tiny philips screws or can be popped out with a small screwdriver.
Sometimes on a motherboard the battery will be about the size of a M&M laying flat or a sideways Jolly Rancher, and soldered to the board. These can be difficult to replace, and are best left to a technician.

The second location is on the inside of your computer case.....mounted on a small square of velcro- this battery will look somewhat like a small 9 volt battery, with a red and black wire going into a connector on your motherboard. For this type you will need to go to a computer specialty store or Radio Shack, and it simply plugs in where the old one came out from.

The problem could be that your motherboard requires "active Speakers" IE: speakers with their own amplifier. A lot of the newer Motherboards are now like this to cover the use of 5.1 surround sound speaker systems. If you have a set of Active speakers or can borrow a set off of a friend it should show you if this is the case or not

Your old board has an AGP graphics slot, your replacement has a PCI express and a AGP Pro slot. Its says this about the AGP Pro slot

AGP Pro cards were usually workstation-class cards used to accelerate professional computer-aided design applications employed in the fields of architecture, machining, engineering, simulations, and similar fields.

You wont be able to use the old card then. If you don't find the part from a third party vendor by googling the model number, you'll have to call the manufacture, Philips, to obtain that part.

You don't really need to replace it with the exact same processor. You can replace it with any other sempron processor or other processors that your motherboard supports.

You will need a new case and a new power supply. I would replace the memory as well.

Compaq had a tendency to make cases to only fit their boards back then. Youre better off building a new unit and starting over again.
