Connection of a Panasonic Lumix DMC FS5 camera to PC

When I connect the camera to my PC via the USB cable,I just get an endless message saying "Connecting to PC" but nothing happens. Using a card reader, nothing happens either, yet everything works for my previous Fuji camera so I can't think that the problem is with my computer.

To easily isolate if there's a problem with your computer, try to connec the camera to a different computer and verify if it has the same problem. If it works fine, there's something in your computer that blocks your camera. it could be the USB port or some malwares. Try to scan your using your antiviurs. It is necessary to update your antivirus regularly.

Panasonic DMC-155 camera no longer uploads photos to PC

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

[email protected] to copy files from DMC-FS5 to PC

If you have the USB cable that connects camera to PC, connect it. Then open 'My Computer' and browse to find the photos in the camera.
Else, you can remove the memory card, connect it to a card reader and connect the card reader to the PC. Then you can browse to find the photos.
Thanks for using FixYa! And good luck!

No.The only way you can connect your camera to a computer is via usb connection cable (supplied) .Remove the card from the camera, then insert it into the card reader on your computer ..Be sure the memory card for your camera is compatible with your card reader.

Consider NOT using a driver.

Can this camera become a webcam and how

Yes, but only with the yellow (video) and white (mono audio) rca plug cable (to mini USB) that came with the camera. This plugs the camera into a composite input (yellow) found on older video cards, VHS recorders, DVD players and TVs. There is no software switch to tell the Lumix what to do when it's connected to a PC by the USB cable; it just assumes you want to transfer files. Unlike USB audio recorders (Zoom H4) which give you the choice at plug-in, audio interface or disk drive?

Lost cd to down load images from camera to p c

Hi

Im sorry but I don't have software available for Panasonic cameras at this time, and we don't sell cables. If you go on ebay and search 'dmc-fs5 usb' you will find the cable you need for $5. Wish I could offer more help than that, sorry.
