How to lock messages on lg kp500 or lg cookie better known model

Hey i wanna lock my messages on my lg kp500 and i dont know how to.. i know how to put a sequirty lock on but it doesnt stay on my phone as soon as you put the sequirty code on and unlock it and then when ou lock it again it doesnt work as the sequirty code goes off the phone. please help as i want to know how to lock my inbox

I need to put codes on my lg kp 500 but i dont know how!
Check "settings" and go to "display". There should be a feature available entitled "keyguard/lock key", if not this feature is placed somewhere within your settings. This option will allow you to lock the device entirely and every access to the device will require an unlock command.
