I put a micro memory card into it's adapter and inserted it into my Fuji Finepix S700. Now I can't remove it.

I got the message "card is protected" When I tried to remove it, it would only release part way and will not come out. How do I remove it?

It sounds like maybe one of the pins are broke, I wold try flashlight and magnifying glass to inspect it, If you find one of the mettle contacts on the card is broke it is probably ok to just pull it out firmly it will break the card contacts but I doubt it will harm you camera ~T?M~

SOURCE: samsung micro sd memory card

THE CARD IS WRITE PROTECTED
OR THE FILES COPIED ARE WRITE PROTECTED.
SO REMOVE THE WRITE PROTECTION ITS LIKE A SMALL SWITCH WHICH SLIDES ON THE CARD .. ONLY CERTAIN CARDS HAVE IT .
NOW IF THIS DOESNT WORK
PUT THE CARD IN A PHONE AND SEE PROPERTIES OF THE DATA THERE , REMOVE WRITE PROTECTION .

SOURCE: Micro M2 memory card adapter

Memory stick flash memory is tricky. If it is too small, DO NOT INSERT IT. I made this mistake and was lucky enough to have some tools handy to get it back out. You'll need a different adapter to use it in the memory card reader that you have.

As for "guest" 's conundrum. You will need to use either needle nose pliers or tweezers to VERY CAREFULLY remove it. It won't be easy and you have to be careful so as not to push it farther in (which eventually it will stop going in, but still makes it that much harder to get it out)

Good luck

You're supposed to format the card in the camera. You can find the entry for "format" in the menu.

SOURCE: zoom error message Fuji Finepix s700

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you found this helpful.

Regards
Andrea

I cannot get memory card into camera

Your camera uses "xD-Picture Card" memory cards.
To insert the memory card, you have to open the battery cover and you see a little room, where the card goes in. There should be a gold marking indicating where the contact area on the card should be when inserted.
Don't try to insert any other kind of card.
I saw a xD-Picture Card adapter, where you could insert a micro SD card, but I'm not sure your camera can work with such a adapter.

Memory card is full but when try to download to computer says no pictures

Buy a memory card adapter that plugs into the usb port of your cumputer. turn off the camera (important) before removing the memory card. Place the card into the adapter and plug the adapter into the computer's usb port and download the pictures into the computer. You MUST turn off the camera before removing or replacing the card to avoid ruining the card.

Take a small flash light and see if there is a part of a memory card in there, if there is cleaning it out would solve the problem. Also make sure you're putting the memory card in the right way. I've you've done that and it's still giving you problems try going into the menu's and formatting the memory card in the camera.

Three cheers for your computer. If you were able to delete photos and arrange the content on the card while it was in your computer, your card would no longer work when you put it back into the camera.

When i put insert lexor multi use into my fujifilm camera message 'protected card' with exclamation mark on screen. I am unable to take photos. Why?

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Message that says protected card will not let me take a picture. What should I do?

When this problem occur you need to set the memory card unlock or not protected. Remove the memory card from camera and you can see a small button in the memory card, so you need to slide that to set the memory card unlock or not protected.

How to remove write-protection from the xD picture card?

Remove the XD card from the camera. look for a tiny slide switch on the left side of the memory card. Slide the switch to the "unlocked" position. Put the card back in the camera being careful to put it in the correct way and careful not to contact the switch on the card and move it back to "lock".

I can't save images from my Fuji S5700 to my

Try removing the memory card and reading it through a card reader inserted into a USB port. Have you installed the program that came with the camera? I never used mine because I have other high end graphics programs and I always use a card reader instead of the cable. You WILL need the program if you want to do a firmware/BIOS update in the S700, and also the cable. The S700/5700 will only accept up to a 2gig memory card. If you want to use a 4 gig card, the camera (and also your computer) won't recognize the card until you do the update to the firmware. Available with instructions from FujifilmUSA website.
