How do i turn back on spy sweeper and my micro trend internet security

In order to disable the Anti-Virus components of Webroot Anti-Virus you must go to two separate sections:
Anti-Virus Shield Disabling
1. Click on the Options button on the left hand side of Webroot Anti-Virus
2. Go to the Shields tab of the Options Menu
3. Under the section labeled Anti-Virus Protection, take the checkmark out of the Protect against Viruses box.
Anti-Virus Sweep Disabling
1. Click on the Options button on the left hand side of Webroot Anti-Virus
2. On the Sweep tab, put the dot into Custom Sweep (please note you can only disable Anti-Virus Sweeps by using the Custom Sweep option)
3. Under the section labeled Sweep Settings Summary, click the Change Settings link which is next to Custom Sweep Settings
4. A Custom Sweep box will appear with various sections to click on. Click on the What To Sweep button on the left side of this Custom Sweep box.
5. On this screen, take the checkmark out of Sweep for Viruses under the Viruses section.
6. Click the OK button at the bottom of this screen and you will be returned to the Sweep tab. (Again please note that you can only disable Anti-Virus Sweeps by using the Custom Sweep Option which will now be selected)

Webroot full sweep gets stuck on one file and then freezes. can't shut-down webroot or computer.

Okay, before I can start full troubleshooting, I need you to turn your computer off, then turn it back on, while it is loading BIOS I need you to tap F8 Then load safe mode, then I need you to log on the account labeled administrator. Then attempt to run it, then tell me the result, so I can being troubleshooting.

I cannot turn on the antivirus in webroot spysweeper.

Sounds like you have a non-AV version of Webroot if options are greyed out. If not, uninstall and re-
install.
If you've used "Hijack This" then you've used one of the best tools available for tracking down issues
with malware. Remember, it is better to scan for malware in Windows SAFE MODE. Superantispyware
is an excellent and free utility. Also try Panda's free online service too. If your system is clean and still
slow, then your registry might be the culprit in addition to the usual suspects (defrag'd drives, windows
temp files, cookies, etc).

Webroot antispyware not sweeping

Hi,

if you are using webroot antispyware software on the computer. you have 2 resolution for that.

1. if you have a CD then you can uninstall and reinstall it before that disconnect the internet connection.

2. If your are downloading it online then the only thing is first try to download a different antivirus for the time being and then you can uninstall webroot from the cmptr and then you can download it again and then you can uninstall the antivirus which you installed for the time being.

this will resolve the issue.

Spy Sweeper won't sweep

I have seen this problem a couple times. The only fix that seems to work is uninstalling Spysweeper and then reinstall it again. If you go to start>Programs>webroot you will see an uninstaller. Run that, reboot the computer, then reinstall again from your install disc.

Computer keeps shutting down everytime I try to do a full sweep

Yes, this seems to be a common problem with SpySweeper.
This may not be a solution, but why not try http://housecall65.trendmicro.com/

It scans your PC online, and its free. I thought I removed all spyware/malware etc from my PC using my regular anti-virus and spyware detect software (which I use almost daily). I just tried this online yesterday and it detected 2 Malware and 3 adware programs still on my PC, plus a lot of other stuff..

Try it. Its free after all :)
