Hey, I've got the same problem with my smooth fitness ce74 elliptical. one day the screen froze up and after turning it off and back on, just the heart monitor port light comes on briefly when plugging it in. tried replacing a capacitor that was a little exposed, and replaced the 2032 battery, but no luck, still doesn't work. the elliptical itself still spins and you can use it at the lowest resistance setting, but no way to increase resistance without the console. Using a contactless voltage detector pen I can see power getting from the wall to the port on the back, to all the wiring in the console, and to the hand grip heart rate monitors. Were you able to fix yours?
It sounds like a console problem. Hard to diagnose over the computer.
Smooth fitness is out of business, so no parts are available.
Make sure you have the correct power supply and it is providing adequate voltage and amperage, outside of that, it sounds like a console issue.

If that doesn't work you can log on to HP.com/Support and Drivers.
Find your device and search the error codes listed.
You can also download a real good Utility, HP Print and Scan Doctor.
