Hi.I wanted to purchase canon FS10 but I read many reviews that the camcorder was unable to download videos to computers with VISA.I have a VISTA.How can I use it?
Canon does not support basic software to actually download your video back to your PC. It is propritary software, and it is not available from the Canon poorly run web site. i.e. It is completely worthless by itself

You can download the manual and more from the manufacturer's web site at
http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/camcorders/flash_memory_camcorders/fs10#BrochuresAndManuals
Download a professional converter. Media Converter can convert them the audio and video formats. You also may use AVCHD converter. This product is good for camcorder.
Hi I have had the same issue I found this MOD converter and it has worked for me. http://www.my-video-converter.com/mod_converter_mac/ It does cost $29 but you can trial before you buy. GOOD LUCK :)
If you are talking about downloading the still images recorded on the SD card, you can find drivers for Windows up to Windows 2000 here. (Windows XP and Windows Vista are not supported.) The best thing to do would be to get an SD card reader and upload your still images directly from the card to the computer -- no driver required.
If you are talking about downloading video, that is done through Firewire. The only driver needed is the one that supports the firewire card on your computer.
To play the audio you need to download the AC3 filter pack here: http://www.free-codecs.com/AC3_Filter_download.htm. I have no idea why Canon didn't bundle this codac with all of the software they provide, but it worked for me. I use a Canon FS100, and had no sound in WMP (or any other Windows apps except VLC Media Player) until installing this.
I've found that Windows Movie Maker (built-in to Windows XP), Adobe Elements, Adobe Premier, Sony's Vegas Video and Pinnacle all work well with my canon camera.
