SOURCE: LG front loader drain pump

Easiest way is to use a putty knife on the left and right side of the lower left access panel on front of the machine to remove the rectangular inset. (might have to remove a screw first) Next, pull machine out about 18 inches from the wall and tilt it back so you will be able to reach under machine. Next, remove the phillips screws you can see now that the plastic recess has been removed (not the two at the very bottom, the other ones). Reach under machine and remove pump assembly, which is held in place with a plastic tab on the bottom. If you break the tab, don't worry, it's not really needed as the screws will hold the pump assemble in place just fine. You should now be able to disconnect the electric wire plug and remove the hoses clamped onto the pump. Pump motor is a separate replaceable part.

SOURCE: "UE" error code LG washer wm0642hw

This is an Imbalance code. Your issue may be with:

  • The load is too small
  • The appliance is tilted
  • Laundry is gathered to one side
  • Non-distributed things are put into the drum
Try adjusting the load size, and make sure the unit is level.

SOURCE: lg wm3677hw combo washer drain pump repair question

You replace the whole drain pump. Pretty easy to do from the opening in the bottom by resting the unit on its back. (Make sure you drain the unit completely) You should be able to get the drain pump (pt #4681EA2001D) from http://www.encompassparts.com/lgconsumer/ for less than $50 + s&h.

What does it mean when it says PE on my lg wm0642hw washing machine

The PE error or fault code indicates that the machine is overfilling with water. This washer is equipped with a water level pressure switch. As the machine fills, the pressure increases on the switch, at the set pressure, the switch cuts power to the water inlet valve and the water stops flowing into the washer. If the pressure switch fails to sense properly, or the water inlet valve fails to shut off the unit can overfill. This situation can also be caused if the machine does not drain properly. First, check to see if water ever enters the machine when it is turned off. If so, replace the water inlet valve. Next, check the drain line to be sure it's not clogged or kinked. Next, check to see if the drain pump is working properly and removing the water from the previous cycle. If all of those check out, you may need to replace the pressure switch.

Water does not drain

Is the drain line clear? Also sounds like time on water inlet is running to long. Front loaders don't use that much water.

Lg tromm wm0642hw

I'm guessing it has a float switch that shuts the water off when its full, and if it were bad it would not stop filling. Until the float switch tells the valve to close its also is not going to tell the pump to come on.

LG front load washer does not drain after cycle. Motor runs, drum moves forward and reverse but seems pump doesn't pump. Drain hose clear as well as filter area.

Check for 120 volts to the pump motor while in drain mode, if the pump does not run, or just hums, replace the pump motor. Some LG's have both a recirculating and drain motor on the pump casing, so be sure to replace the correct motor.

LG WM0642HW washer gives error during spin cycle and stops.

I have this problem and you can find the solution on this same web page by searching. It is likely the Hall Sensor that needs to be replaced (see proflevy posting on Jul 16, 2008). According to the postings, it is from soap build up on the sensor and replacing it costs $18 for the part and is easy (many responses on this). I am waiting for the part and will try to fix mine soon.
