"The appliances that are being made now are only made to last around 5 years." That's quoted from a top name brand appliance dealer. The parts if you can find them are so high priced that it's better to just get a new one especially if you have to have a service call. I'm sorry I'm not help... It's just how they're profiting off of people now, by not making parts available and making them so flimsy that you have no choice.
Good luck... Sorry

My condo has a Hotpoint dryer. It is about 3 years old and last fall it no longer dried. I took the dryer hose off from the wall and the dryer works fine, heats the condo. The dryer vent goes into the...

Hi.

With most Hotpoint/GE dryers the blower motor is not spin by a belt. The problem is unlikely the blower motor. The problem is lint in the air ducts and in the blower housing. The lint results in overheating and the high limit switch cuts off the power to the heater (burner or element depending on the model).
As a result the dryer does not heat up.

Access the heating group and remove lint from the air ducts. Also clean the lint filter.

Hotpoint appliances are built by GE. Below service manuals for different GE-manufactured dryers:

HOTPOINT DRYER VTD00G REPLACED BELT BUT WONT SPIN

Most likely to be a faulty start capacitor.
This a round plastic cylinder adjacent to the motor.
This gives the motor a kick start.

Hotpoint dryer

Completely disassemble your vent from the dryer to where it exits the building. Clean out all lint. Disconnect the dryer from the electrical service and check for lint build up inside the machine. This lint build up usually makes the motor shut down on it thermal overload. Check the motor also to see if the air vents on it are blocked with lint. If no lint is present, the motor or the start relay need to be replaced.

HOTPOINT WD71 ERROR E 30

Hello john walker24
Welcome

You said, you have a Hotpoint Ultima 1200 Washier dryer model WD71s and keep getting an E30 error code after it fills with water.
Any idea what the problem is?

This is what Hotpoint tells us!
E30 = A motor drive problem has occurred.Try running the programme again.
If the problem persists call for a Service Engineer.

BUT, I will tell you to unplug the appliance for 5 minutes and see if this resets the system and solves the error code.
Sometimes it is only a glitch and you can reboot and be alright if there is really no mechanical failure!!
Let me know how it goes?
Huuum,
Please remember to leave a rating!
Thank You.

No heat blower motor no working

Okay, I think we need to back up a bit here. I need to know, first, if the dryer ignites. This is a GAS dryer, correct? I need to know if the igniter is glowing, and if you can hear the gas start flowing when you have ignition. If not, this could be a simple igniter or gas coil problem. If there is ignition and the drum is turning, do you have air flow coming out of the dryer vent exhaust? If there is air flow, you cannot possibly have a blower wheel problem. We need to rule out some possibilities before we start disassembling the dryer. I'm a bit miffed as to why someone would tell you that the motor was the problem. Since I was not there, I need to know as many symptoms that you can provide, so I can give you with a correct assessment.
